6 Hospitalized After Reckless Smuggler Rolls Vehicle

U.S. Border Patrol agents took five illegal immigrants into custody after performing emergency medical treatment following a vehicle roll over.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, a Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Constable reported a vehicle leaving Anzalduas Park at a high rate of speed.

McAllen agents responded and located the vehicle.

Upon seeing the patrol unit, the juvenile driver made an abrupt maneuver that caused the vehicle to roll over.

Agents, including Border Patrol Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) provided immediate medical attention.

Six subjects were transported to local hospitals where they were treated for multiple injuries sustained at the hands of the callous smuggler.

Further investigation revealed that the United States citizen teen driver and the front passenger, a juvenile Mexican national, were responsible for picking up five illegal immigrants and transporting them.

All subjects will be processed accordingly.

“It is extremely concerning to see transnational criminal organizations preying upon teenagers in our communities to become ruthless smugglers, using dangerous tactics with no regard for human life,” said Chief Patrol Agent Manuel Padilla, Jr.

Take a stand against crime, this type of criminal activity should have consequences, we should not condone this type of behavior from juvenile delinquents and we urge immigrants not to jeopardize their lives by illegally entering the United States.
