Abloy Oy has unveiled a new digital, keyless padlock with a removable shackle, as the latest addition to the ABLOY BEAT product family and to ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions digital portfolio for critical infrastructure.
“Connectivity is the keyword in this announcement, as it is the opening step in our expanding keyless product range”, explained Simo Pikkarainen, Product & Software Director, ABLOY Critical Infrastructure.
“We see a time ahead where various access management solutions – both hardware and software – are increasingly connected. We want to help organizations connect with their more effortless digital future from their current mechanical systems.”
“Further additions to our BEAT range are on their way in the coming months.”
Engineered for Critical Infrastructure Needs
All products in the BEAT range are designed especially for professional physical protection of critical infrastructure, businesses, and industry sites while also providing customers with improved operational efficiency, and reducing both logistics and costs.
This new digital, keyless padlock solution is intended to be used in sectors like telecom, transportation, water, and energy.
Padlocks with a removable shackle are typically needed in gate frames and hasps in critical infrastructure environments, for example with truck trailers which usually have various hasp locking solutions. In these settings, the padlock is often protected behind a more robust, fixed fitting, for example, welded to a supporting structure.
Similarly, in places requiring special security, locks are often also hidden from view. This can easily be accomplished by fitting a padlock with a removable shackle in a groove in a cabinet door frame or under a manhole cover.
In the above cases, when operating the lock, the shackle cannot be turned as in a conventional padlock but instead, the shackle can be detached by pulling it perpendicularly away from the lock body.

Mobile-operated, yet highly weatherproof
The padlocks are operated with the BEAT mobile application, providing a digital key. Access rights can be managed with CIPE Manager, ASSA ABLOY’s access management solution for critical infrastructure. The locks can also be integrated with third-party systems or added to the customer’s existing workflow thanks to application programming interfaces (API).
The padlock, featuring a case-hardened steel body, is designed to perform in harsh environments and remote areas, has IP66 and IP68 protection ratings, and an EN16864:2017 (the European standard for mechatronic padlocks) grade 3 ratings.
The lock complements the current ABLOY® SUPER WEATHER-PROOF range of padlocks.
The padlock is available with 25 mm and 50 mm long removable shackles from regional ABLOY Critical Infrastructure sales units worldwide.

Best Vehicle Security Entrance Control
When you need security in an opening with limited vertical space, the Extreme High Performance MicroCoil® Grille – 500K Cycles is the answer.
Perfectly engineered to occupy the smallest amount of headroom on the market, this high-performance compact grille not only coils in nearly 50% less room than other security grilles but also provides higher performance, and engineered to handle at least 500,000 cycles (opens/closes) at speeds of up to 24” per second.
But, with the MicroCoil Grille, higher speeds do not mean you get a loud and clunky security grille, this low headroom parking security grille’s patented nested link system actually minimizes noise and vibrations – making it one of the quietest and smoothest coiling parking garage gates available today.

Best Perimeter Protection Solution – Physical
Created to provide immediate security to store and building owners during times of unrest or unoccupied hours, the StoreDefender is not only a better choice for instant protection, but it can also be more cost-effective than other means of protection (such as plywood board-ups).
The StoreDefender™ Door was engineered to be a reliable solution to prevent theft and property damage, protecting against riot events and mob attacks.
More rigid and robust compared to traditional security doors, StoreDefender was created to be lift and impact-resistant and has been tested to withstand more than 4,500 pounds of effort to lift 3” and resists more than 2,500 pounds of pull force without exiting the guides.
Designed to safeguard property, merchandise, and most importantly, lives, the door ensures pharmaceutical facilities, cannabis dispensaries, high-end retail, and big-box chain stores can fortify perimeters against looting events and burglaries.
