On June 15, Border Patrol agents in Del Rio were alerted to an individual walking along the railroad tracks near Highway 90 east.

Once encountered, agents determined that the man, Adan Rodriguez Peralta, was a Mexican national who was illegally present in the United States.

During processing, agents discovered that Rodriguez Peralta, 63, had been previously convicted of murder in Houston and was sentenced to serve 12 years in prison.

Immigration checks also revealed that the man had been deported from the United States on multiple occasions since his murder conviction.

He was also arrested numerous times for driving under the influence in the state of Texas.

Rodriguez Peralta will be charged with – 8 USC § 1326 illegal reentry after deportation – which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, and his prior order of removal will be reinstated.
