Engineered for at least 500,000 cycles (opens/closes) at speeds of up to 24” per second, the patented curved vertical links minimize noise and vibrations for smooth and quiet operation that will not disturb building tenants or patrons.

CornellCookson, a Double 2019 ‘ASTORS’ Award Winner, is pleased to announce that the company’s Extreme® MicroCoil® Grille, is the First of Two products that have been nominated to compete in the 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program for Best Vehicle Security Entrance Control Gate.

The Extreme® MicroCoil® Grille – 500K Cycles is one of the fastest and most compact parking security grille on the market.

Because space is typically a limiting factor in parking facilities, the reduced coil size compared to standard security grilles significantly decreases the required headroom needed for installation by 50%, while providing safety and security for facilities that safeguard vehicles.

When a client requires security in an opening with limited vertical space, our Extreme High Performance MicroCoil® Grille - 500K Cycles is the answer.
When a client requires security in an opening with limited vertical space, our Extreme High Performance MicroCoil® Grille – 500K Cycles is the answer.

As the first high performance grille to incorporate an automatic, hands-free locking feature, the MicroCoil Grille is an ideal choice for unmanned parking openings.

Engineered for at least 500,000 cycles (opens/closes) at speeds of up to 24” per second, the patented curved vertical links minimize noise and vibrations for smooth and quiet operation that will not disturb building tenants or patrons.

In addition, the reduced headroom requirement makes it well suited for retrofit applications and environments where meeting 2010 ADA compliance is essential.

The Extreme MicroCoil Grille comes standard with a variable-frequency drive and direct drive operator that ensure a soft start and stop–reducing wear and tear on both the grille and the operator making it an obvious choice where continuous flow of traffic is crucial and downtime is unacceptable.

Additionally, the operator’s direct drive design means there is no sprocket or chain to wear or replace.

The Extreme Microcoil Grille also comes with the Apex SmartController control panel, featuring plug and play connections and step-by-step instructions for commissioning, limit setting and messaging to further speed installations and simplify the user experience.

With flexibility in mind, the Extreme MicroCoil Grille is compatible with a 120V service to accommodate situations where upgraded service is unavailable (requires transformer, provided with upgrade).

To ensure maximum uptime, it has a springless design which requires little maintenance, other than routine checks, and no replacement parts for 500K cycles.

It accepts virtually all activation systems and features a 2-year operator warranty and a 2 year/500,000 cycle component warranty. Standard light curtain and photo eyes are provided as standard to ensure safety.

CornellCookson produces custom closure solutions found in stadiums, hospitals, hotels and museums, along with a variety of facilities where reliability, security and life safety is vital.
