Global Foundation for First Responders will hold its 3rd Annual Charity Golf Outing on October 12 at the Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club, Smithtown, N.Y., at 12 PM.
The shotgun tee-off begins at 12 PM, donated prizes and giveaways will be awarded to participants following the tournament, held at the country club.
The event is generously sponsored by companies and individuals from various industries who work to support the foundation’s mission.
The foundation was founded in 2015 with a mission to support the families of first responders who lost their lives saving others in the line of duty.
Monies raised go into scholarship funds and other programs designed to ease the financial burden of surviving family members.
Since the foundation was formed in 2015, the scholarship has helped students of fallen heroes to attend college.
Through a partnership with the National Law Enforcement & Firefighters Children’s Foundation, tuition monies have been distributed to eligible students who are from, reside in, or attend school in the New York Tri-state region (NY, NJ, CT).
“My dream for this foundation is to provide needed assistance to the surviving loved ones of the men and woman who have dedicated themselves to keeping communities safe,” explains William McGuire, President and CEO of the Global Foundation for First Responders.
The charity raises funds through different events, fundraisers and sponsored community service.
“Our focus is to always develop ways to bring a positive outlook and support during a time of need,” McGuire adds.
The Global Foundation for First Responders raises awareness for the needs of national law enforcement, firefighters’ children’s foundations and other children’s charities so their immediate, and long-term needs, are satisfied.
William McGuire is a native of Long Island and a former Fireman from Mineola.
He started the foundation nearly two years ago after witnessing the ever-increasing needs of families of first responders first hand.
It became his passion to give back to all that serve leading to the development of Global Foundation for First Responders.
McGuire is also the President and CEO of Global Elite Group, an international security company headquartered in Garden City, serving the needs of the aviation safety industry, event management and property security for companies worldwide.
