Hesco Awarded 2017 Superior Supplier Status by DLA (Learn More)

Hesco has been recognized as a Superior Supplier and placed in the Commander’s Choice category, by the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for Fiscal Year 2017.

The award shines a spotlight on companies that consistently deliver high quality products, perform above the grade, and pursue new ways to excel in the support of the United States military.

Hesco Bastion, Inc., following a competitive procurement process, was awarded the Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for force protection expeditionary barrier systems by the DLA in 2014.

HESCO® earth-filled MIL® units have been used worldwide to create perimeter protection barriers; construct temporary accommodation; mitigate VBIED’s and have now evolved to offer semi-permanent security fence solutions.

Defensive Barriers

Since the First Gulf War the rapidly deployable wire mesh baskets have been deployed in arduous and remote locations creating simple perimeter walls to complex city-like fortification, defending personnel, equipment and critical assets of the US Army, UK MOD, USMC, USAF and NATO.

HESCO MIL units have become a prominent component and benchmark within worldwide force protection and have been used by military organisations including the US Army, UK MOD, USMC, USAF, and NATO in every major conflict since the first Gulf war, saving countless lives and mission critical assets.

The Concertainer™ MIL unit is a multi-cellular barrier system lined with heavy-duty, non-woven polypropylene geotextile and manufactured from welded Zinc-Aluminium coated steel mesh.

The unique design, strength and versatility enable easily-constructed corners, and when joined and filled the system will shape the defensive barrier to the surrounding landscape, creating barriers of exceptional strength and structural integrity.

MIL Units

Whether used as a protective barrier or to define boundaries, HESCO MIL units have been employed to safeguard equipment, facilities, vehicles, personnel and critical assets in a variety of operations such as military, peacekeeping, humanitarian and civilian.

Camp Bastion

Camp Bastion (now called Camp Shorobak) was the largest operational camp built since the Second World War, located northwest of the city of Lashkar Gah in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Adjacent to this was Camp Leatherneck, used by the US Army.

Both nations helped build Camp Bastion which was used to house the Afghan National Army.

Camp Bastion was also home to a multi-national field hospital, one of the busiest heliports in the world and a fully functional logistics airport.

Both external and internal perimeters were established using Hesco defensive products.

“We have protected the men and women of the United States military for fifteen years and we are proud to continue supplying the DLA with the protective barriers that soldiers have come to trust and rely on,” said Stephanie Victory, Chief Commercial Officer, Hesco Bastion, Inc., who is extremely proud to receive such an accolade.
