Man Breaches Murder Scene & Shoots Officer Point-Blank

By Officer Blue, Blue Lives Matter

A police officer was shot after a man breached a murder scene on Wednesday and shot a police officer.

The initial incident started around 2:30 – 3:00 pm when officers received a call for an unconscious woman lying on High Street.

Officers arrived to find the body of a female.

The area was closed off as officers began a homicide investigation.

A man then breached the crime scene and shot one of the officers point-blank in the abdomen, according to Chief Shane Denham.

At least five officers returned fire on the shooter. The gunman was pronounced dead on scene.

The officer is stable and is expected to survive.

The suspect’s identity and motives are unknown at this time.
