NAVAIR/NAWCAD Pathways Program is offering currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment students taking at least a half-time academic, technical, or vocational course load in an accredited high school, technical, vocational, two or four-year college or university, graduate or professional schools, paid opportunities to work and explore federal careers while completing their education.

Duties will include:

  • You will answer phones to develop an understanding of the organization’s customers and their issues.

  • You will make photocopies to become familiar with organizational documents.

  • You will draft routine correspondence to practice writing skills.

  • You will shadow journey-level staff members to develop a sense of what the work requires.

  • You will assemble training manuals, presentation materials, or reference files to support higher-level employees.

  • You will maintain the work area, related reference books and files, and office supplies in a proper and organized manner to contribute to office efficiencies.

  • You will collect data and information from senior Contract Specialists and provide that data and perform lower-level mathematical calculations and analysis for the Team Leader.

  • You will evaluate and analyze standard requirements which are used to prepare standard descriptions of items/prices.

  • You will prepare graphs, charts, and tables of information collected from senior Contract Specialists.

  • You will perform the mathematical calculations used to prepare information for graphs, charts, and tables of information, providing low-level analysis of information and data collected.

  • You will, at the direction of the supervisor and assistance from senior analysts/specialists, develop and coordinate a variety of basic/routine reports, staff actions, correspondence, and other related actions.

  • You will assist in planning and organizing actions necessary to accomplish short and long program goals.

  • You will work closely with a supervisor and other staff members to develop and solve the resolution of problems/issues and make basic recommendations.

  • You will assist in monitoring the status of accomplishment against established schedules and on occasion be tasked to identify anticipated problem areas and initiate simple corrective actions.

  • You will research legal and regulatory material to obtain information and/or interpretation for use by the supervisor or co-workers.

  • You will attend meetings and conferences to observe the proceedings.
