Next-Gen Tactical Cockpit Displays for Airborne Law Enforcement

Macro-Blue, a manufacturer of Tactical Cockpit Displays for use in Aviation Law Enforcement, introduces its next generation displays for aerial surveillance.

The MB Q-series displays are engineered with the new Macro-Blue Advanced Graphics Processor Platform designed to bring superior intelligence to passively displayed camera or mapping system videos.

These “Q” series displays are a quantum leap in technology, displaying 4 video signals simultaneously, offering the Tactical Flight Officer a combination of up to 4 videos on one screen.

Every MB Q display comes standard with 4 3G-SDI inputs (high-definition digital video) to support an HD camera and mapping system.

The remaining SDI inputs allow for plug-in sensors such as less expensive tail boom, hoist or skid cameras.

The Advanced Graphics processing platform offers solutions to some undesirable characteristics that plague surveillance displays.

When on a mission, fractions of seconds count, so the MB Q displays are engineered for “near instantaneous switching” between input sources.

Macro-Blue’s Signal Lock™ technology “locks” onto the signal, seamlessly and instantly acquiring transmissions, eliminating screen black-out (an issue that occurs when corrupted data is received from a camera or mapping computer).

All Macro-Blue displays are engineered and designed specifically for harsh aviation environments and used by aviation law enforcement, government, firefighting and broadcast news.

The MB-Series are slimmer, lightweight, low power consumption, passively cooled, high brightness and contrast for direct sunlight visibility, offering the same quality features found in the MA-Series such as full vibrant colors including reds and yellows when ordered with NVIS lighting. Touch screen is Multi-Touch P-CAP, multi-touch projective capacitance allows one to zoom in/out or rescale the display, using three or more activation points; works well with gloves and tolerates moisture.

The Macro-Blue TECHNICAL DIFFERENCE!

Macro-Blue Tactical Cockpit Displays are engineered to optimize the output from infrared sensors, EO cameras and moving map systems.

Macro-Blue displays provide the clearest image possible under all conditions, (especially under extremes) such as direct sunlight, night and (NVG operation).

Starting with the highest grade industrial LCD panels, then modify and optimize to meet or exceed the MIL-STD-3009 standard for NVIS, MIL-L-85762A contrast & luminance, MIL-C-675 Anti-Reflective Glass- no sun hoods needed here.

These panels are individually tested and qualified, issued a QA certificate that document the measurements for luminance, contrast ratio and NVIS.

Macro-Blue displays are more robust than comparable displays on the market, very power efficient, have reverse battery protection, can precisely control the amount of current to each LED, which prolongs the life of the LCD panel thus, protecting your asset investment.

The company’s mission specific technology has proven to operate with sustained reliability.

Multiple Control Options

MB Series Controls

The MB-Series can be configured by your choice of push button, MIL-Style knobs, touch screen (TS); or a combination of TS + push button controller, or TS + military style knob controller.

These external controllers can be mounted anywhere in the vicinity of the display, maximizing the use of valuable panel space.

Macro-Blue Q-Series Displays

The new MB Q displays incorporate fewer components than the previous generations resulting in fewer failure points with significantly less power consumption.

The Q-Series efficient processing consumes 50% less power than earlier models. Moreover, the displays are passively cooled, eliminating any moving parts and dust contamination complications.

The MB Q-series include Full HD displays renowned for unparalleled sunlight readability and superfine brightness control.  The MB Q displays with the NVIS option incorporate the widest contrast range in the industry.

Because it meets MIL STD 3009 direct from the factory, customers save the expense of paying for additional NVIS filtering.

The MB Q displays are shipping this quarter.

Demonstrations of this new technology will be conducted at ALEA Expo 2017July 24-29, in Reno, Nevada or contact Macro-Blue at for detailed specifications and information.
