Don “Doc” Ballard is the only living Medal of Honor recipient residing in Missouri.

50 years ago on May 16th, 1968, Doc earned the right to wear the Medal of Honor in Quang Tri Provence in the Republic of Vietnam.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of that day, On Target Ammunition collaborated with Black Dawn Armory to build the special one-of-a-kind rifle.

The rifle’s receiver is engraved with the Medal of Honor and the date of 16, May 1968 as well as Don “Doc” Ballard’s name.

(On May 16, 1968, Navy corpsman Donald Ballard threw himself on a grenade to save the wounded men he was treating in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. Thankfully, the grenade had a defective fuse and only exploded when, after a few moments without an explosion, he threw it into the air. Ballard received the Medal of Honor on May 14, 1970. Doc has continued to serve his entire life since that day in 1968, both as a fireman and as a police officer.

He is a retired Colonel in the Kansas National Guard, and continues to serve veterans of our military n a variety of ways.

100% of the proceeds of this raffle will be donated to a 501C3 charity to benefit military veterans of the United States.

Doc will personally present the rifle to the winner.
