Rave’s web-based vulnerable needs registry helps emergency managers, public safety and health leaders understand the individuals most at-risk within a community, to enable faster coordination and more efficient communication during a critical event.

The coronavirus pandemic has impacted vulnerable populations on a massive scale.

The elderly, those with respiratory illnesses and others with underlying conditions that put them at greater risk were the hardest hit when the virus surged this spring.

Often, public safety agencies don’t know the location of these vulnerable populations in their communities, making it difficult to proactively identify and communicate with those at risk and respond to their needs appropriately.

Rave Mobile Safety, a trusted provider of emergency and public safety solutions to help save lives, and Multi-Award Winner in Three Consecutive Years in the Annual ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Programis addressing the challenges of vulnerable populations with Rave Prepare.

Rave Prepare, one of Four Nominated Products, is Rave’s web-based vulnerable needs registry, which helps emergency managers, public safety and health leaders understand the individuals most at-risk within a community to enable faster coordination and more efficient communication during a critical event.

With Rave Prepare, residents voluntarily submit medical information and access or functional needs through an online portal or the mobile app for emergency planning, response and recovery.

During a disaster or catastrophic event, such as the coronavirus pandemic, emergency managers can easily identify residents in need of assistance, communicate with them and assign the appropriate resources to send help.

Rave Prepare leverages Smart911, a national database of citizen data, to connect with 9-1-1 centers and provide critical information to first responders and emergency managers.
Rave Prepare leverages Smart911, a national database of citizen data, to connect with 9-1-1 centers and provide critical information to first responders and emergency managers.

This enables public safety and health agencies to plan ahead and proactively respond to disasters and other emergencies, including power outages, transportation interruptions, evacuations, community health crises, pandemics and shelter resource planning.

As the coronavirus pandemic surged across the country, Rave Prepare was quickly updated to ensure public safety and health agencies had the insight into their communities needed for managing their response to the virus, including:

  • Identifying individuals who are self-quarantined, have pre-existing conditions or are over the age of 65

  • Identifying trends and potential hotspots

  • Mobilizing resources where needed most

Additional benefits of Rave Prepare include:

  • Access to crowdsourced national data:

  • Detailed community health snapshot:

    • Rave Prepare provides an interactive map interface which allows emergency management, public health and safety officials to visualize where vulnerable populations are in the community, allowing officials to prepare better and take action sooner.

  • Secure, actionable data:

    • Information is stored in secure geo-redundant data centers for anytime, easy-to-use access, analysis and planning.

    • Officials can capture activity with a daily report of engagement and send reminder emails to track the progress of an emergency or event in the community.

    • Rave Prepare’s powerful reporting tool gives emergency managers at the local, regional and national levels the data and analytics needed to drive strategic planning and resource allocation decisions.
