1. CRIMINAL-PROFILE GENERATION TOOLS

The criminal-profile generating tools provided with the IIMS allow government authorities to define in detail the typology of any number of categories of domestic or transnational criminals in such areas as human trafficking, drug smuggling, terrorism, weapons smuggling, money laundering, tax evasion, organized crime, and others.

2. BACKGROUND DATA GATHERING

The IIMS continuously searches worldwide sources for data related to active criminal profiles, analyzes the data with advanced data-mining techniques, and then stores the results in local databases.

The data the IIMS obtains come from both structured and unstructured sources.

3. RISK ASSESSMENT

During immigration processing, or in other contexts as the security authorities might require,

the IIMS determines if a subject’s personal background data matches a criminal profile, thus identifying a person of interest.

4. DATA SECURITY

Securiport does not operate the IIMS or have access to its data. This is performed by personnel of the client government fully trained by Securiport.

All data is encrypted and only the client government has the keys to decode it, effectively preventing any external party from unauthorized access.

Plus, organized crime continues to move drugs and people through over-exposed and under-monitored borders.

In its opening notes, World Border Security Congress emphasized that despite the expansion of international agreements in Europe and Asia, no part of the world is immune from border penetration.

Due to the wide range of treats, governments need to continue to invest in their border security, such as combating terrorism, controlling the movement of goods, and monitoring personnel across international borders.

Reducing the number of unsecured international borders will remain a top priority for border security in the immediate and long-term.
