The Value of Training – ‘ASTORS’ Award Winning True Security Design

An effective Threat Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA) is the first step in developing a valuable school security program, identifying the security risks a particular school faces and ensures that a physical security program is designed to combat those risks, providing a roadmap that can be used to refine or develop a properly integrated safety and security program.

True Security Design, recently recognized as the 2018 Gold Award Winner of the Annual ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program for Best Risk Analysis Methodology, is a provider of dynamic, “Best Practices”, based training programs for schools, business, religious facilities and the law enforcement communities.

All of our programs are designed to provide our attendees with information, concepts and skills that they can use in the real world, while conducting their job duties.

To accomplish this, we use highly experienced instructors for all of the topics we offer, this provides the attendees with a valuable resource and insight into the subject matter.

It is our belief that if a training program does not help the attendee to increase or enhance their skills and abilities then the program does not offer value, which is why we go above and beyond to provide that value.

We also use “Role Players” in as many of our programs as possible.

The use of role players provides attendees with an opportunity to use the skills taught in the programs in realistic scenarios.

This element adds tremendous value to attendees of a training program in that they can experience the dynamics of an investigation and the stress of interactions where the training is used in real investigations or events.

Our law enforcement officers deserve the best training possible so they can provide the best possible service to our communities.

Police work is a dangerous profession, but one that is vital to the well being of every American.

Our training classes use very experienced patrol officers, detectives, investigators and ranking officers that have actually done the things they teach about so they can pass on their experience to our police officer attendees; experience is one of the most important aspects of any training program and one we feature in all of our programs.

We are dedicated to helping every police officer that comes to our training programs be the best officer they can be as they serve their communities.

We have provided training to hundreds of police agencies and thousands of police officers and they have been rated as “excellent” by over 99% of the students we have had the privilege to have in our classes.

The feedback we get from the agency leadership; the chiefs and captains has been equally appreciative.

It is this same dedication to excellence that we infuse into all the training programs we provide for the schools and business communities as well.

Every aspect of human interaction can be enhanced by training; making that training interesting, compelling and filled with value is the hallmark of great training. True Security Design is dedicated to this principle.

When working with the schools and businesses we understand the differences in the needs each of these groups need.

A school has to be a warm and welcoming place for the kids to learn and grow, they also have to be safe and secure, so no one has to deal with fear while trying to learn.

Our business partners have unique safety and security needs as well.

Effective security starts with clear understanding of your vulnerabilities, and True Security Design can help you gauge your strengths and weaknesses in a wide variety of scenarios.

There is a constant flow of people and materials coming and going in our workplaces and they have to be accommodating and open so the employees can create and interact with their customers and clients, but our businesses also have to be ready to respond to violence and keep everyone safe.

Our training programs recognize these unique factors because our instructors have worked in the real world, they have the experience to relate to the people who have to use these spaces, and this helps them offer real life solutions they can use every day.

Keeping people safe and secure is no longer an option, it is responsibility of every school and business, just as having the most highly trained professional police officers is no longer an option.

True Security Design is a partner all of these groups can count on to help them achieve the best possible outcomes.
