Vigilant Solutions, a global machine vision and data analytics company, and Platinum Award Winner in the 2017 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, to further its mission to assist law enforcement in keeping communities safe today has acquired the assets of ShotCaller Global Inc., the developer of GunOps™ and DNAOps™ investigative solutions for law enforcement.
The acquisition will enable Vigilant Solutions to provide the law enforcement community with firearm forensic mapping and DNA crime mapping technology to complement its existing suite of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, which currently include automated license plate reader (ALPR) data, facial recognition technology (FaceSearch) and ballistics analysis solutions (BallisticSearch).
GunOps and DNAOps are both web-based interactive investigation tools.
GunOps allows law enforcement investigators and analysts to enter, visualize and access information about firearm-related crimes, forensic test results and armed criminals.

GunOps enables a visual and interactive way to monitor recovered firearm evidence as it is booked into the police department.
This allows Crime Lab Technicians to filter and view firearm-related evidence according to geographical areas, which then enables the operator to more quickly zero in on the targets of greatest opportunity to success.
This is accomplished by connecting many pieces of information in order to link crimes, guns and suspects in a timelier manner so as to be of most value to investigators.
The web application manages a large volume of information on firearms crimes and is completely searchable making GunOps the ultimate time saver.
DNAOps allows law enforcement to enter, visualize and access information about crimes where DNA has been recovered from crime scenes, using web-based mapping applications.

DNAOps™ is a highly secure cloud-based, crime tracking system including triple layer encryption though HTTP tunneling that allows authorized users to enter, visualize and access information about crimes that have DNA recovered from crime scenes using web-based mapping applications.
DNAOps™, the brainchild of Rocky Edwards, a globally recognized and renowned forensics examiner, and was perfected as a tool track criminals through recovered DNA.
It gathers all the experience and knowledge necessary to fight and track criminals through DNA left at crime scenes.
It is a flexible and very affordable alternative for any law enforcement agency wanting to use cutting edge and cloud based technology to efficiently and effectively target criminals through rapid DNA.
“By acquiring GunOps and DNAOps and integrating these solutions with our industry-leading law enforcement solutions and commercial ALPR data, we can provide law enforcement with the investigative and analytical tools they need to detect and disrupt more criminal enterprises,” said Shawn Smith, Founder and President of Vigilant Solutions.
“Most importantly, we are now well-positioned to help law enforcement combat the growing epidemic of gun crime.”
“Our enhanced suite of offerings enables us to provide law enforcement the ability to help identify the G.E.T. – geography, event and time – of gun crime.”
ShotCaller Global Inc. was established in 2009 to bring GunOps to market.
“We are excited to become part of Vigilant Solutions,” said Rocky Edwards, Founder of ShotCaller Global Inc. and Co-inventor of GunOps.
“The Vigilant Solutions team shares our passion for helping law enforcement to keep communities safe by reducing gun crime.”
“As the ALPR data provider of choice for law enforcement, as well as a provider of facial recognition technology and ballistics analysis capabilities, Vigilant Solutions is widely recognized as a dedicated law enforcement partner.”
“We look forward to working with the Vigilant Solutions’ team to support law enforcement in its efforts to keep our communities safe and eradicate gun crime.”
