Recently featured “Fugitive of the Week,” Eric Lassonde, 25, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force during a stop of vehicle driven by a known associate.
Lassonde had been wanted on multiple outstanding arrest warrants, including a probation violation stemming from an original burglary conviction, two warrants for violating protective orders and another for assault.
These warrants were issued by both Merrimack County and the Boscawen Police Department.
Mr. Lassonde was recently featured as the “Fugitive of the Week.”
The “Fugitive of the Week” had been aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link and prominently featured on the internet.
The “Fugitive of the Week” has been a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007.
Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week” is distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers.
Several members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, including members from the Strafford, Rockingham, Hillsborough & Belknap County Sheriff’s Offices, Federal Protective Service, the Greenfield & Boscawen Police Departments along with deputy US Marshals developed information indicating that Lassonde was currently homeless and residing in a van of a known associate in the Concord area.
Members of the task force saturated the Concord area until finding the van.
After a short period of surveillance, the van was stopped by members of the task force behind a Penacook apartment building and Lassonde was located inside.
Mr. Lassonde initially provided a false name, but he was readily identified by his known photographs and tattoos and was arrested without further incident.
Lassonde was transported to the Merrimack County Jail by the Boscawen Police Department, where he will be processed and held without bail until his initial court appearance.
Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 6,806 arrests (As of 5/25/2017).
These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses.
Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 7 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
The U.S. Marshals Service is the nation’s primary fugitive hunting organization and captures more federal fugitives each year than all other law enforcement agencies combined.
Annually, U.S. Marshals arrest more than 50 percent of all federal fugitives and serve more federal warrants than all other federal agencies combined.
