FLIR Systems, Two-Time Winner in the 2017 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Award Winner, and strong competitor in the 2018 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program is in receipt of an order for FLIR IBAC 2 biological agent detector systems to support the United States (U.S.) Forces Korea (USFK).
USFK is the joint headquarters through which U.S. combat forces would be sent to the South Korea/US (ROK/U.S.) Combined Forces Command’s (CFC) fighting components — the combined ground, air, naval, marine and special operations forces component commands.
Major USFK elements include Eighth U.S. Army (EUSA), U.S. Air Forces Korea (Seventh Air Force), U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK), U.S. Marine Forces Korea (MARFORK) and Special Operations Command Korea (SOCKOR).

The delivery order is under a 10-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract in support of the Joint United States Forces Korea Portal and Integrated Threat Recognition (JUPITR) program led by the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD).
The order is valued at $4 million with deliveries beginning in July 2018.
The FLIR IBAC 2 is a real-time air monitor that alarms in less than 60 seconds when an airborne bio-threat, such as spore, viral, cellular, and protein toxins, are present, then collects, preserves, and transmits data to command and control centers.
