HESCO, leaders in the design and engineering of defence products and perimeter security solutions, is now adding a hostile vehicle mitigation access control product to the company’s TERRABLOCK line.
HESCO launched TERRABLOCK in 2017 which was widely covered in AST, a completely surface-mounted hostile vehicle mitigation perimeter fence, engineered for critical infrastructure security and urban asset protection.

At International Security Expo, Olympia London, Hesco has announced the new TERRABLOCK Rising Arm Barrier (RAB), which was impact tested at Karco, California, installed in under six hours, and joins with the HESCO Energy Transfer System to HESCO earth-filled units.
With zero ground work preparation the barrier stopped a truck weighing 6800kg traveling at 40mph, the barrier brought the vehicle to a complete stop within 5-meters, ensuring that any follow on hostile vehicles were unable to pass around the vehicle to enter the site.
The RAB beam also remained fully intact on impact.

HESCO understood the need for a rising arm barrier that would mitigate all forms of unauthorized access, to complement the TERRABLOCK range of surface mounted, high security barriers, designed, engineered and tested to deliver hostile vehicle mitigation and deter unauthorized access.
The combination of an integrated vehicle barrier and climb resistant weldmesh panel enables rapid installation through a single, surface mounted system, removing the need for foundations, giving users the ability to upgrade security in response to changing threat levels, with minimal disruption to operations.
“The TERRABLOCK RAB has a unique design which enables controlled lift on exposed sites, as well as stopping a 40mph hostile vehicle, the tamper proof design protects the locking mechanism from sabotage,” explains Maggie Horritt, Hesco Technology and Production Development Manager, and engineer behind this barrier.
“Joined to HESCO Barriers or systems already in place, the TERRABLOCK RAB gives controlled access without compromising security.”
Hesco brings decades of military experience to the civilian security market, understanding the ever-changing threat levels and the need for a rapid solution that can protect people and assets whenever and wherever needed.
