EAGL Technology, the 2019 ‘ASTORS’ Platinum Award Winner for Best Gunshot Detection Solution, and Anixter are partnering Johnson Controls to help customers better protect their facility occupants and streamline emergency response, leading to improved outcomes during intruder incidents.
Working with Johnson Controls and EAGL Technology, customers have access to a greater range of technologies and more custom solutions, regardless of building size or goals.
In the midst of the pandemic, many major enterprises have closed or significantly reduced staff including schools, retail, theaters and more.
The United States government-issued funding as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act has provided funding for enterprises who are able to install emergency preparedness and response products such as gunshot detection systems prior to reopening facilities.

Customers with access to the CARES Act funding can add gunshot detection systems to their safety and security protocols during periods of low building occupancy rates.
“EAGL Technology, Johnson Controls and Anixter are united in our customer-driven goals,” explains EAGL Technology co-founder and senior vice president, Jennifer Russell.
“We understand that the threats our customers are facing are evolving, so technology must evolve as well.”
“This partnership allows us to meet customers’ changing needs and remain agile in the market.”
EAGL Technology systems validates discharge events and notifies law enforcement with video and threat location information, and connects seamlessly with Johnson Controls systems to create a well-rounded emergency response.
EAGL uses science developed by the Department of Energy (DOE) to analyze waveform and energy level to discern a firearm has been discharged and to prevent false alarms.
This zero false read DUAL VALIDATION TECHNOLOGY will automatically lock down soft target areas within seconds.

The building layout shows the shooter location with ballistic data and immediately notifies law enforcement and other emergency responders through email and text messages.
EAGL can also integrate with facility access control, live streaming IP cameras, public address, mass communication, and local emergency notification systems.
These functions are performed, automatically and autonomously, all within seconds of a detected threat event.
EAGL’s patented, zero false alarm, gunshot detection technology has now been extended to those who “Protect and Serve” in the form of a new body-worn gunshot detector which gives the same instant, autonomous, and accurate notification that the FireFly and DragonFly gunshot detectors have been offering for over two years.
The new “BlueFly GSD”, which has been nominated in the 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program, gives notification to those who need it within seconds of detecting a gunshot that is fired either by the wearer or by an adversary up to 100 feet away.
This device also monitors the wearer’s physical attitude and will immediately and autonomously send a notification of a “Man-Down” whether from a fall, a take-down, injury, or worse.
“More than ever, we are committed to working with customers to create a custom security strategy that delivers the best outcomes,” added John Hudson, vice president and general manager of security business at Johnson Controls.
“This partnership allows us to meet the changing needs of all of our customers, creating safer and more secure spaces.”
Through Anixter’s distribution channels, Johnson Controls customers can implement EAGL Technology’s gunshot detection system.
This advanced technology utilizes wireless technology with an open API, integrating with video surveillance, mass notification systems, video surveillance, and fire and life safety systems.
“Anixter is pleased to be partnering with Johnson Controls and EAGL Technology to help drive innovation for emergency preparedness and response,” said Terry Bender, vice president of sales, security at Anixter.
“Knowing you have the ability to respond swiftly in emergency situations can provide great peace of mind to businesses and organizations.”
