Newest Competitor in the 2021 'ASTORS' Awards Program, Patriot One Technologies proudly announces the company's SmartGateway™ Solution has been selected by Oak View Group to protect Austin’s New Venue, Moody Center.

Patriot One Technologies, a New Multi-Award Competitor in the 2022 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, has been selected by the Oak View Group for their newest Multi-Sensor Gateway, SmartGateway™ solution to protect all entrances to Austin’s new world-class live entertainment venue, the Moody Center, the new home of The University of Texas Longhorns basketball teams.

The Gateway was officially in place for Moody Center’s first show, Grammy®-Award winning John Mayer which took place on April 20th.

The Moody Center, which seats over 15,000 people, has deployed Patriot One’s SmartGateway™ solution, which is specifically designed for stadiums and other large entertainment venues.

(See how the SmartGateway™ solution, a multi-Sensor gateway from Patriot One Technologies can offer covert operational deployment allowing for uninterrupted pedestrian traffic, saving time, saving money, and ultimately helping to save lives. Courtesy of Patriot One Technologies and YouTube.)

The Gateway unobtrusively scans patrons for concealed guns, knives, and other prohibited items when they enter the facility, without the need to remove personal items from their pockets, allowing for an uninterrupted, free flow of patrons into the stadium, eliminating security lines and delays.

SmartGateway™ solution sensors are equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) that scans patrons and staff for concealed weapons on patrons as they enter the venue, for an easy-to-use system that requires fewer security guards to operate, allowing additional guards to be redeployed to other high-value tasks around the stadium, such as responding to security incidents.

The SmartGateway™ iteration of the Gateway solution was specifically designed for high-throughput venues, such as those that host large, ticketed events, and can securely get thousands of patrons inside the venue quickly, in alignment with the venue’s security standard requirements.

“Despite being The Live Musical Capital of the World, Austin was lacking a state-of-the-art venue to host the best and biggest names in the music industry,” explained Jeff Nickler, senior vice president and general manager of Moody Center.

“Moody Center is a place built for Austin. Not only will it be the best place to experience live entertainment, but it will also be a place to watch more Longhorn victories.”

“The arena was built with the best technological advances in the world, which include unparalleled patron security and safety. We chose Patriot One because of its ability to help us maximize patron entry, as well as cost savings.”

“Versus traditional walk-through metal detectors, the Gateway screening solution is allowing our patrons to experience up to six times faster entry, while reducing operational costs more than 50%.”

Patriot One’s Multi-Sensor Gateway is able to detect concealed guns, knives, or related threat objects on people in a minimum-clutter setting (no bags or carry-on trolleys), to prevent mass-casualty attacks on the general public in high traffic facilities and venues.

The Gateway can be installed at arenas and stadiums, ticketed venues and attractions, casinos, workplaces, and other entryways into private, public, or secured buildings.

The Multi-Sensor Gateway can also offer covert operational deployment allowing for uninterrupted pedestrian traffic.

Through artificial intelligence (Al)-enhanced target recognition and object position image overlay, threat isolation and intervention can occur covertly, significantly minimizing risk to security personnel and eliminating disruption to patron experience, unlike conventional walk-through metal detectors.

Patriot One’s newest Multi-Sensor Gateway, SmartGateway™, has been designed specifically for stadiums and other large ticketed venues.

SmartGateway™ Updated features include:

  • Plug-and-play allows for portability between events or locations

  • Customizable display settings, which include patron-facing traffic lights, enabling patrons to more easily follow stop / go cues

  • Visual and auditory alerts which ensures security personnel don’t miss a threat

  • Threat localization on LED panel removes the need for a separate kiosk

  • Integrated camera reduces the need for an additional setup

SmartGateway™ is ideal for environments with high throughput, that need to get thousands of patrons inside the venue quickly, efficiently, and safely, in alignment with security standards requirements.

“Our Gateway solution is very customizable and flexible, allowing us to architect it to be a perfect fit for venues like the Moody Center, so they can have the best of both worlds in terms of fast security lines and cost savings,” said Peter Evans, CEO of Patriot One.

“We are pleased that Oak View Group has chosen us to protect entrances at their venues. We look forward to continuing to do so in the future.”

Patriot One Technologies provides unobtrusive, artificial intelligence AI-driven weapons and threat detection systems that enable arenas, casinos, schools, theaters, and other businesses to provide unprecedented safety while also improving the patron experience.

The Company’s Multi-Sensor Gateway Solution enables companies to covertly screen for weapons at points of entry without disrupting the flow of traffic, and its AI-based Video Recognition System enables venue and building operators to identify weapons and other threats inside and outside of facilities, while also providing valuable intelligence for optimizing operations via their AI-powered platform.
