PC Matic, a security solution that has been recognized for the last two consecutive years in the Annual ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Award Program, has continued to be a leader in anti-malware products throughout 2019.
PC Matic is a proactive anti-malware solution that is developed by PC Matic Inc. (formally known as PC Pitstop Inc.)
PC Matic is the security solution used by home users, as well as in business environments such as U.S. local governments, municipalities, and educational institutions.
All of which need to ensure the security and confidentiality of their data against today’s threat landscape, and want to stop feeling overwhelmed by today’s cyber threats.
Fortunately, they choose PC Matic to feel peace of mind with an automated whitelist technology, providing an advanced level of protection without burdening IT staff.

Unlike traditional security solutions, which allow unknown and often malicious files to execute, PC Matic blocks unknown files from executing until tested by our in-house malware research team, or locally whitelisted by proper business authorities.
Four key factors separate PC Matic from other security vendors.
First, its mission of prevention. Other security solutions place a strong emphasis on services post-malware infection.
PC Matic believes that malware infections are entirely preventable, with the use of the right technology.
PC Matic is researched, developed, and supported entirely in the United States.
To stay one step ahead of cyber criminals, PC Matic deploys a three-tiered protection approach that cannot be found in other security solutions.
First, is the use of its automated global whitelist.
This whitelist is managed by the PC Matic malware research team, meaning none of the unknown file testing is left up to IT professionals.
It is because of this default deny approach, users of PC Matic do not find themselves infected with the latest malware threats, including ransomware.

The second layer of protection includes fileless malware detection.
Fileless malware circumvents a file system driver, and does not include a file or an executable.
Due to this attack method, no antivirus was blocking it.
That is until PC Matic developed a specialized hooking process that reviews demands sent to scripting engines to confirm their security.
To date, one out of every four attempted malware attacks are fileless scripting attacks.
All of which are blocked by PC Matic.
Lastly, modern cyber threats have been found executing through vulnerable RDP ports. Again, security solutions were failing to address this vulnerability.
To prevent attacks from executing through open RDP ports, PC Matic has deployed threat mitigation techniques to avoid exploitation.
Some of these risk mitigation techniques include methods to thwart brute force attacks through RDP ports, two-factor authentication, RDP port disabling via our program’s portal, and more.
Combined, these three layers of defense provide advanced, proactive security for all levels of businesses, as well as home users.
PC Matic stresses the importance of a preventative security approach. No one wants to get infected, and they don’t have to.

PC Matic’s mission is to continue to advance the Cyber Security industry, providing leading security solutions for every vertical that are affordable and easy to use.
In 2009, PC Matic was launched. However, much like every other cyber security solution on the market, it was based off a blacklist to thwart malware attacks.
Within two years, PC Matic Inc. founder’s father and wife became infected while using PC Matic. It was then he knew there was a better way.
In 2011, PC Matic dropped its blacklist methodology and changed its malware detection approach entirely.
It was then, its globally automated whitelist technology was deployed.
Ever since PC Matic Inc. has continued to advance its anti-malware solution to address the growing threats our nation’s citizen’s, and businesses, face on a daily basis.
In the last year, developers have enhanced PC Matic by implementing endpoint vulnerability features to mitigate the risk of RDP attacks, and integrated features to expedite the reclassification of unknown files.
