The Matrix high security perimeter enclosure grid was designed in response to power utility companies seeking a perimeter security system which could comply with CIP-014 physical security standards, which is a guideline for the protection of North American electric power substations from physical attack.

The Matrix framework structure allows the user to define the level of security needed by choosing a suitable mesh option that details the degree of delay and site visibility, up to and including barbed wire or ballistic panels to the system for additional layers of security.

The Matrix framework is a raceway for wiring, conduits and security cabling required around the perimeter of a project whose integrated design can eliminate the need for costly trenching and boring, and is a value added solution for site perimeter security upgrades.

Matrix is the first coated system designed to minimize the system impedance to comply with IEEE grounding requirements, as no additional grounding material, beyond the structure grounding lug installation, is required to create a safe low resistance fence system.

The system also meets ASCE 7-10 Exposure C Wind Load at 130 MPH and ASTM F2781 Forced Entry Standards at low, medium and aggressive threat levels, and can be expanded to meet ASTM F2656 Crash Barrier Standard with the addition of Ameristar’s Stalwart anti-ram cable barrier.

Furthermore, the Hardened Matrix Security Fence combines a mesh infill with Impasse pales for an additional layer of security, to create a heavy-duty perimeter security system with increased delay times and greater visual deterrence.
