‘ASTORS’ Award Winner Ermetic Receives SOC 2 Type II Certification

Ermetic, a cloud infrastructure security company, and New Platinum Award Winner in the 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, is pleased to announce it has achieved System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II certification for the Ermetic Platform.

The Ermetic Platform combines Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) as a service, and this certification validates that Ermetic maintains effective system-level controls that ensure the security of its platform.

Gartner predicts that by 2023, 75% percent of security failures will be the result of mismanaged identities and entitlements.

According to Gartner, the #1 threat to cloud infrastructure is entitlements and permissions because identifying risky permissions and misconfigurations is hugely difficult.

It requires insight into the access that all users and services have and actually need.

Addressing this at scale calls for visibility into thousands of identities, policies, and resources – and mitigating the risks revealed.

Using Ermetic, enterprises can enforce least privilege access in their cloud for all identities, across the entire technology stack, and manage their security posture with ease.

(Ermetic is a public cloud security platform that governs identities and access entitlements, and enables enterprises to automatically enforce least privilege and mitigate risks at scale. Through continuous analysis of entitlements and activity, Ermetic powers least-privilege access policy definition and enforcement for both human and machine identities. Ermetic provides full-stack insight into the effective access entitlements granted by the configuration of identities, compute resources, data stores, and the network. Ermetic helps Security and DevOps stakeholders work together to ensure cloud security without impact to application continuity or speed to market.

SOC 2 Type II reports on the description of controls provided by the management of the service organization, attests that the controls are suitably designed and implemented, and attests to the operating effectiveness of the controls.

“The Ermetic platform provides cloud infrastructure security that automates visibility, control, and remediation of risks on a continuous basis,” explains Michael Dolinksy, CTO of Ermetic.

“SOC 2 Type II certification provides customers the confidence of knowing that our systems meet and exceed the strictest industry standards for security, availability and confidentiality.”

An audit conducted by KPMG confirmed that Ermetic met the security Trust Services Criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The Ermetic SaaS platform provides comprehensive cloud security for AWS, Azure, and GCP that spans both cloud infrastructure entitlements management (CIEM), and cloud security posture management (CSPM).

The company is led by proven technology entrepreneurs whose previous companies have been acquired by Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and has received funding from Accel, Forgepoint, Glilot Capital Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, Qumra, and Target Global.
