Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assisted five distressed migrants during three Easter-weekend incidents in southern Arizona.
On Friday, agents from the Ajo Border Patrol station received notification of a 9-1-1 call involving two distressed individuals.
Agents were in route to the area when the caller, an El Salvadorian national, again called 9-1-1 to say that his travel partner needed medical attention.

Two agents, one of which is an emergency medical technician, arrived on scene and determined the sick individual, a Mexican national, was severely dehydrated.
The EMT agent provided immediate aid until an Ajo ambulance arrived and transported the man to an area hospital for further evaluation.
Also on Friday, agents from the Three Points Substation responded to a 9-1-1 call originating from Topawa, on the Tohono O’odham Nation, and encountered two Guatemala nationals who were in good health and declined medical care. Both subjects told agents they were just tired.
Ajo agents working Sunday, assisted by an Air and Marine Operations helicopter crew from Yuma Sector, responded to a 9-1-1 call from a male Mexican national in distress.

Agents used GPS coordinates from the 9-1-1 system, as well as landmarks relayed by the caller, and found the man standing on a bombing target on the Barry M. Goldwater Air Force Range. He did not require medical attention.
All of the migrants had entered the United States illegally and therefore were arrested and will be processed per Tucson Sector guidelines.
