U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations (AMO) aircrews based at the Miami Air and Marine Branch will perform a flyover during NASCAR’s championship weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway in front of tens of thousands of racing fans.
CBP’s Air and Marine Operations agents from air and marine branches and units in Florida and Texas are assisting with security efforts for the event providing real-time aerial video to ground based law enforcement personnel at the incident command center.
Air and Marine Operations interdicts unlawful people and cargo approaching U.S. borders, investigates criminal networks and provides domain awareness in the air and maritime environments, and responds to contingencies and national taskings.

CBP’s Air and Marine Operations aircrews from the Miami Air and Marine Branch and National Air Security Operations Center – Jacksonville deployed for response and recovery efforts during this year’s destructive hurricane season transporting vital supplies and supporting dozens of relief operations and assessments in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

With approximately 1,800 federal agents and mission support personnel, 240 aircraft and 300 marine vessels operating throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands, AMO serves as the nation’s experts in airborne and maritime law enforcement.
Air and Marine Operations maintains an active and fully engaged cadre of coastal patrol vessels and aircraft aggressively patrolling Florida’s coastline.
In Fiscal Year 2016, AMO enforcement actions resulted in the approximate seizure or disruption of 221,707 pounds of cocaine; 654,891 pounds of marijuana; 3,881 pounds of methamphetamine; 940 weapons and $35.7 million; 4,303 arrests and 55,923 apprehensions of illegal aliens.
