U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Dania Beach Station and law enforcement partners arrested a man convicted of and wanted for murder in Brazil on Monday near Pompano Beach.
U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended the Brazilian national who had entered the United States illegally in Texas with an Interpol warrant for homicide.
Agents transported the individual to the station for processing in coordination with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers.
“It’s just the latest example of the vigilance of dedicated agents working tirelessly in Florida and across the country to protect our Nation’s borders,” said U.S. Border Patrol Miami Sector Division Chief Todd Bryant.
“U.S. Border Patrol will continue to apprehend those who attempt to enter the United States unlawfully along with those who pose a threat to our communities and the safety and security of our nation.”
