CylancePROTECT Receives FedRAMP Certification (Multi-Video)

Cylance has achieved Moderate certification in the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), paving the way for the company to deploy its AI-driven endpoint security product CylancePROTECT to United States government agencies through a cloud-managed architecture.

FedRAMP is the first government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud-based services.

FedRAMP-authorized products allow agencies to leverage existing security assessments for cloud-based systems leveraging a uniformed government approved risk-based management strategy.

As a result, government agencies have a significant level of confidence regarding the security posture of the approve application.

Cylance uses an independent Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) to perform monthly continuous monitoring efforts that are reported directly to the accrediting Agency, the Office of Personnel Management and FedRAMP.

The 3PAO provides agencies with continuous re-assurance of the security status of CylancePROTECT.

“In addition to our other deployment models, we’re excited that federal agencies can now take advantage of our artificial intelligence-based preventive solution, but with the efficiencies of a cloud-managed architecture,” said Chris Zimmerman, vice president of Cylance Federal.

“Cylance’s mission is to protect everyone under the sun, and achieving this authorization is an important step towards helping protect our nation’s most valued assets.”

Cylance is the first company to apply artificial intelligence, algorithmic science and machine learning to cybersecurity to prevent the most advanced security threats in the world.

Built on a breakthrough predictive analysis process, the Cylance AI Platform serves as a foundation for innovative, AI-driven security products to address critical attack vectors.

CylancePROTECT, quickly and accurately identifies what is benign and what is a threat, and prevents malicious code from ever executing on a targeted system.

(Researchers at CISCO uncovered a strain of spy-malware dubbed “Rombertik” which has a number of interesting anti-anti-virus evasion techniques. Not only is Rombertik sandbox aware, which would let it slip past solutions that rely on dynamic-detonation, but it also can detect if it’s being analyzed in the system’s memory. If it detects this, then it takes a rather brutal path of deleting the MBR, rendering the box useless. Courtesy of Cylance and YouTube)

By coupling advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence with a unique understanding of an attacker’s mentality, Cylance provides technology and services that are truly predictive and preventive against the most advanced threats.
