Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry in Douglas, Arizona arrested three Mexican nationals and a local woman during the weekend for separate attempts to transport marijuana and a weapon across the border.
Feb. 18, officers first arrested a 24-year-old Mexican woman after finding nearly 170 pounds of marijuana, valued at $84,000, during an inspection of her Chevrolet SUV when she attempted to enter the U.S.
Later that day, officers arrested a 55-year-old Mexican woman after finding almost 340 pounds of marijuana, worth approximately $170,000, in her Pontiac SUV.

Later still, officers arrested a 19-year-old Douglas woman after a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to her vehicle containing nearly 170 pounds of marijuana worth about $84,000, in her Volkswagen.
On Feb. 19, officers conducting outbound inspections referred a 29-year-old Mexican man for a secondary inspection when he attempted to exit the U.S. on a bicycle.
During the encounter, officers discovered the cyclist was carrying a Ruger MKII .22 caliber handgun, magazines, a rifle scope, several knives, binoculars, ammunition, and two-way radios.
