Durabook Americas, formerly GammaTech Computer Corporation, a 2017 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program Winner, is pleased to announce its DURABOOK R8300 R3 is now available via the U.S. Air Force Client Computing Solutions (CCS-2) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) in the Rugged Notebook (RN) category for fiscal year 2018a (January 1 – June 30).

Availability was secured when Durabook Americas’ channel partner, Transource Computers, was awarded the CCS-2 RN contract (FA8055-17-A-1104).

The DURABOOK R8300 R3 fully rugged notebook can be purchased, along with other offered under CCS-2, via the AFWay (Air Force Way) e-commerce portal (https://www.afway.af.mil/).

Authorized users of the Air Force CCS-2 BPA include, but are not limited to:

  • Department of the Air Force
  • Department of the Army
  • Department of the Navy
  • Defense Health Agency-Air Force (DHAAF)
  • Office of the Secretary of Defense
  • The White House Communications Agency (WHCA)
  • The Office of the Secretary of Defense,
    • As well as contractors supporting these agencies who are on contract to fulfill government requirements when authorized under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 51.100 and by the BPA PCO provided there is no conflict with the GSA definition of authorized users.

The R8300 R3 features an Intel® 7th generation Core™ processor, an Intel HD 620 Graphics package, Windows 10, up to 21 hours of power, a 13.3” 1050 nit sunlight readable XGA (1024×768) TFT LCD touchscreen, quick-release HDD, and a waterproof and backlit keyboard.*

The R8300 boasts a 13.3” 1050 nits TFT LCD display with sunlight readable feature for workers toiling in bright, mid-day sun.

With its quick-release HDD-storage capability, users can inter-swap HDDs simply by turning a couple knobs.

The R8300 comes with a Super Multi ODD or optional second battery with hot swap support for full day operation.

Other features include security protections such as:

  • Absolute Computrace
  • Trusted Plaform Module (TPM) 2.0
  • Kensington lock
  • Various connectivity support such as Wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.2, SIM card slot, GPS module, Wi-Fi, Gobi 5000 and more.

The device meets military standards (MIL-STD-810G) and has other critical certifications for drop, vibration, ingress, salt fog, hazardous environments, temperature, humidity, and altitude.
