Evolv Technology Returns to Compete in the 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program

Evolv Express™, powered by the Evolv Cortex AI Software Platform, delivers the frictionless high-speed smart firearm and bomb detection system that screens over 3600 people per hour (60 people per minute) and gets smarter over time.
Evolv Express™, powered by the Evolv Cortex AI Software Platform, delivers the frictionless high-speed smart firearm and bomb detection system that screens over 3600 people per hour (60 people per minute) and gets smarter over time.

Evolv Technology, a leader in free-flow smart threat detection, and a recognized Winner in the 2019 and 2018 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, is pleased to announce that Evolv Express™, has been nominated to compete in the 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program.

Evolv Express™ is the world’s first and only touchless security screening solution that meets all of the post-pandemic security screening requirements.

Express is up to ten times faster and far more effective than last generation products because it uses new sensor technology and artificial intelligence to prevent active shooters and bombers from entering a venue, without sacrificing the visitor experience.

Unlike traditional metal detectors, Evolv Express is powered by the Evolv Cortex AI™ Software Platform enabling the system to spot weapons while ignoring harmless personal items.

It keeps high volume entrances flowing by reliably detecting guns and other weapons as visitors simply walk through carrying their phones and bags, alleviating long lines at entrances while greatly reducing interaction between visitors and security staff.

STOP THE ACTIVE SHOOTER. DON’T STOP YOUR VISITORS.
STOP THE ACTIVE SHOOTER. DON’T STOP YOUR VISITORS.

With Evolv, no stopping is required, no emptying of pockets or removing bags; people simply walk right through.

If a threat is detected, real-time image-aided alarms show guards exactly where the potential threat is on a person or in their bag thereby reducing the amount of physical contact with people and their belongings.

This also allows venues to implement a “no touch” policy, where guards direct the person to open their own bag and remove certain items for closer inspection..

And, because Evolv Express is 10X faster than metal detectors, it can reduce client’s labor costs by up to 70%.

THE EVOLV DIGITAL THRESHOLD™
ENABLING ADAPTABILITY FOR YEARS TO COME

The digital transformation is unlocking efficiency and value everywhere as organizations reimagine archaic processes and technology, better equipping themselves with interoperable and flexible capabilities.

Evolv has reimagined physical security by combining the Evolv Express physical platform with the Evolv Cortex AI™ software platform creating the Evolv Digital Threshold™.

The Evolv Digital Threshold uses networked sensors, centralized data stores, machine learning, workflow engines, and cloud analytics to streamline operations and support a better security posture.

It provides venues with the flexibility to add additional sensors and applications such as the thermal imaging package, giving users the ability to adapt to new threats and needs over time.

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis the need to screen visitors and employees for elevated body temperature in addition to traditional weapons screening is now a reality.

By adding a thermal sensor and the Evolv TempCheck™ software application to the Evolv Express weapons detection platform, each visitor can be screened for elevated skin temperature in an average 2-3 seconds followed by immediate, frictionless, and touchless weapons screening.

Available immediately, the new optional capability is an industry first that optimizes use of facility space and resources.

COVID-19 has forever redefined security screening.

Pre-pandemic procedures relied predominantly on metal detectors, hand wands and invasive bag inspections, which is far too slow and overly reliant on manual effort, which results in unsafe crowding at entrances and risky physical contact.

Adding a separate, standalone step for temperature screening slows the process even more.

If an employee or visitor walks through with an elevated temperature, TempCheck alerts guards while respecting visitor privacy and enabling guards to take swift action to separate potential health risks for further screening to safeguard employees and visitors from risk of potential health threats.
If an employee or visitor walks through with an elevated temperature, TempCheck alerts guards while respecting visitor privacy and enabling guards to take swift action to separate potential health risks for further screening to safeguard employees and visitors from risk of potential health threats.

In short, a fundamentally new approach is required.

Evolv is now addressing the ‘new normal’ threat of pandemic disease as well as concealed weapons, as the company’s products facilitate social distancing while minimizing person-to-person interaction.

To date, Evolv’s systems have been used to screen more than 50 million individuals in an expedient, respectful manner.

“I’ve had dozens of conversations recently with leaders responsible for security screening at many kinds of venues and facilities,” explains Evolv Technology Chief Executive Officer Peter George.

“All of these professionals agree on one thing – there’s no going back to the old invasive, analog approach.”

“The future is touchless and digital.”

“It’s a post-pandemic re-imagining of security screening that leverages modern technologies to deal with the realities of today’s threats and health and safety concerns, while being able to quickly address the threats of tomorrow.”

“Evolv is proud to be leading the way by partnering with multiple major outdoor recreation venues as they reopen.”

Six Flags is currently using Evolv Express to screen park guests and employees upon their arrival to eliminate invasive bag checks and crowded entrance lines.

Evolve Express represents a cornerstone of the world’s largest theme park operator’s extensive new safety measures, to help protect 26 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada, with more than 50,000 employees, and millions of visitors/families.

Evolv Express can screen up to 3,600 people per hour – 10 times more than legacy approaches such as metal detectors, to enhance the visitor experience, while improving the performance of their security teams while reducing labor costs.

Venue personnel can direct those with elevated readings to secondary screening, reducing the risk that their guards, visitors and employees are exposed to individuals presenting signs of virus infection.

With this optional add-on package, venues can screen 800-1,300 people per dual-lane Evolv Express.

The Evolv Thermal Imaging Package for Evolv Express is manufactured in the U.S., complies with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and meets Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines.
