FATPOT Patent Award for CADfusion Public Safety Interoperability (Video)

FATPOT has been awarded an additional patent (U.S. 9465839) by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, further expanding its exceptional information-sharing capabilities available to Public Safety clients.

This new award is in addition to existing Fusion Platform patents, bringing the total unique patented claims to 62.

Already recognized as the established leader of real-time data interoperability between disparate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, this additional patent adds to the exclusive functionality available only in FATPOT’s CADfusion™ system.

The new patent defines additional methods to intelligently detect and engage personnel, systems, and resources in shared incident response and coordination, reducing the manual effort required to determine when and how to respond.

CADfusion is a centralized information-sharing hub that intelligently brokers and transforms data between multiple disparate CAD systems, providing real-time situational awareness and streamlining coordination of efforts and resources during incidents that involve multiple jurisdictions such as active shooter incidents, pursuits that cross multiple borders, and mutual aid calls.

The patented intelligent hub architecture of CADfusion simplifies the connections among multiple disparate CAD systems while simultaneously providing more functionality than traditional CAD-to-CAD data-sharing interfaces.

CADfusion integrates the differences from each CAD systems into a common operating platform including code translations, unit mappings, filters, and business rules. CAD vendors are already leveraging CADfusion’s intelligent hub technology for their customers by developing a standard adapter using FATPOT’s Software Development Kit.

This allows for a “plug, configure, and play” environment that can be deployed quickly and affordably, eliminating the expense and headaches associated with custom point-to-point solutions.

FATPOT’s ongoing innovations in commercial off the shelf (COTS) interoperability solutions positively affect emergency response operations. “FATPOT’s CADfusion provides status, location, and Call type information to all participating agencies.

This new capability will enable us to have even faster response times and better knowledge across our boundaries about missing person alerts, reckless drivers, severe weather sightings, box alarms, mutual aid responses and thefts”, said Jeannine Thompson, 9-1-1 Coordinator, Lake County IL ETSB.

Jonathan Wesley, FATPOT’s founder and Chief Technology Officer explains, “Our goal is to make system interoperability accessible and affordable for every agency so that lives can be saved, the safety of our first responders improved, and emergency operations become more effective and efficient.”
