The key to improving life safety and security in schools is through automated situational awareness.

Principals and teachers must receive real-time information about a possible threat situations, so they can initiate the appropriate response plan.

The innovative Fly Sense™ 2.5 Vaping and Elevated Sound Detector for schools and workplaces, a new competitor in the 2018 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, can help keep your school and students safe.

Fly Sense 2.5 Vaping and Elevated Sound Detector is a solution that does not use cameras or microphones – therefore can be utilized in rest rooms and locker rooms while protecting individual privacy.

Each detector is a multi-sensor IoT device.

Vaping in schools in particular is a pervasive problem – and one that is quite unhealthy.

Traditional smoke detectors typically do not detect vape from e-cigarettes or vape pens.

Fly Sense 2.5 detects a vaping signature based on chemical compounds typically associated with e-cigarettes or vape pens.

The release of Fly Sense follows the New York State adopted legislation making vaping and the use of e-cigarettes illegal on public and private school property across the state.

Tested to the highest industry standards, the FlySense™ patented technology has helped school administrators to detect and deter rising student vape use by providing situational awareness where cameras and microphones aren't permitted.

According to both a recent U.S. Surgeon General’s report and a survey from the New York State Department of Health e-cigarette use by high school students is rapidly rising.

Fly Sense 2.5 also continuously measures sound levels and detects elevated sound, or noise anomalies, that suggest school or workplace violence – such as bullying, fighting, or screaming – that should be investigated.

Furthermore, new and enhanced features for Fly Sense 2.5 includes:

  • New state-of-the-art vape sensor technology
  • A mobile app
  • Status indicator LEDs
  • Alert scheduling features to make monitoring and response easier, and
  • Robust analytics based on incident alert history
