Genetec, a leading technology provider of unified security, public safety, operations, and business intelligence solutions, who took home a Gold in the 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Programhas been renewed through 2028 for SAFETY (Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies) Act certification, for its announced its Genetec™ Security Center by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The SAFETY Act designation certifies the Genetec™ Security Center unified security platform technology that manages and monitors electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and automated license plate reading.

The SAFETY Act, part of the Homeland Security Act of 2022, provides incentives for developing and deploying anti-terrorism technologies and establishes liability limitations resulting from an act of terrorism where Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technologies (QATT) are deployed.

With the increasing amount of new security technologies and sensors available, an open approach to security is crucial. But over time, integration falls short. APIs and interfaces built for a single purpose reach their limits – and your system stops keeping up with your needs.

Genetec™ Security Center is a different type of platform. It’s built from the ground up to unify your data so that you can manage security policies, monitor events, and run investigations.

Genetec™ Security Center‘s extensive ecosystem lets you expand your system with the necessary technology to face emerging threats. And since it’s not focused on one narrow set of tasks, it accommodates new data types seamlessly in one interface.

With a single interface to master, Genetec™ Security Center allows your team to spend less time in training.  And since it was designed to unify your entire security environment, it provides a familiar experience even as your system grows, unlocking new gains in efficiency.

Genetec received this certification and designation after meeting stringent qualifications. The company received its first SAFETY Act certification in 2011 for its Omnicast™ video management system, followed by Security Center in 2017.
