Hanwha Techwin, a global supplier of IP and analog video surveillance solutions, and a Winner in the 2018 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, is playing a major role in ensuring a safe working environment for Hanwha Chemical, Korea’s leading petrochemical company.

Hanwha Techwin’s network cameras, ‘Wisenet T’ industrial surveillance lineup, have been installed at the Hanwha Chemical Ulsan 1 Production Site 1 (hereafter called ‘Hanwha Chemical’).

Hanwha Chemical places utmost care against potential industrial incidents such as fires, explosions, or leakages of toxic chemicals.

Thus, explosion-proof cameras and stainless cameras of the Wisenet T series, a lineup of solutions tailored for industrial facilities, have been selected to ensure the safety of employees and nearby community, in addition to protecting assets within the facility.

The explosion-proof cameras (TNU-6320E) were installed both in and out of the facility including the peripheries, laboratories, and chemical warehouses.

These cameras accommodate stainless steel SUS316L housing that prevents explosion triggered by any internal or external factors, ensuring safe operations at chemical and industrial facilities.

Further attesting to their high safety is that they have been certified with ATEX II, a European certification of explosion-proof products.

Furthermore, the built-in wiper automatically removes snow, rain, dust, or dirt on the lens for clean and clear monitoring.

The stainless cameras (XNP-6320HS) were also installed throughout the site which does not handle any explosive materials, yet requires highly durable cameras due to chemical resources.

Made of a stainless-steel enclosure that is both strong and highly resistant to corrosion and acid, they provide superior protection against corrosive chemicals and are optimized for monitoring industrial facilities.

Additionally, the cameras are water-proof, vandal-proof and have the IP67, IP66, NEMA4X, and IK10 certifications, offering a stable operation even under extremely low or high temperatures.

Their design also allows easy cleaning and maintenance, making them ideal for places that require strict hygienic standards such as chemical plants, medical facilities, or food manufacturing facilities.

“We strongly trust Hanwha Techwin’s cameras given that they have earned rigorous European certifications for explosion-free cameras,” stated a source at Hanwha Chemical, “We’re also highly satisfied with the remote monitoring feature, which allows real-time surveillance of every corner of our facility.”

“Around-the-clock safety monitoring is a must at industrial facilities,” added another source at Hanwha Techwin.

“Since even a minor accident can snowball into a major disaster, real-time surveillance throughout the facilities and early response are crucial.”

“Above all, no collateral fires or damage should be caused by the security systems for safety monitoring, making the explosion-free camera the optimal product in this regard.”

“We are striving to develop various products whose performances are optimized for each solution and that can be effectively utilized not only for safety monitoring at industrial facilities but also for safety in all our surroundings.”

Building on the company’s history of innovation, Hanwha Techwin America is dedicated to providing solutions with the highest levels of performance, reliability and cost-efficiency for professional security applications.
