Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, and Triple Award Winner in the 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, is pleased to announce the company’s proprietary HELIAUS® platform was awarded a Platinum ‘ASTORS’ award for Best Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, and a Gold ‘ASTORS’ for Best Security Workforce Management Solution.

Allied Universal’s HELIAUS® is the smart technology of tomorrow that places insight into the hands of your Security Professionals to better protect your people, brand, and assets.

HELIAUS® is not just a tour, reporting, or incident management system, it is an AI-powered workforce management solution that streamlines security operations at your site and generates intelligent recommendations to help mitigate risk.

HELIAUS® provides real-time communication and insight into the hands of your Security Leadership to better protect your people, brand, and assets.

Allied Universal provides security services to an array of clients across many vertical markets, and a common security challenge clients express is the ability to predict and prevent when and where costly incidents like accidents and crimes can occur on a client site.

When clients equip their security professionals with HELIAUS® it puts them in the right place at the right time to help prevent problematic incidents from happening on their sites.

The “give and get” system shares information and action in real-time to ensure the client’s security professionals are always situationally engaged.

Tasks and actions are fully defined in every zone they enter and the system automatically prompts the security professionals on what to look for and how to effectively respond.

Another common security challenge is the ability to bring the sites’ post orders to life and ensure that all clients’ needs are being met.

Clients need transparency, accountability, and real-time reporting to ensure they are getting the most value out of their security program.

HELIAUS® helps with visitor and vehicle management, zone-based smart sensors for reporting purposes and accountability, and dynamic AI-powered tours created and customized to meet the needs of clients.

Through customized workflows, tours, and constant communication, security professionals remain connected and situationally aware at all times. With prescriptive analytics driving action, HELIAUS® transforms insight into action and adds value by increasing safety and savings for clients’ security programs.

HELIAUS® provides accountability with real-time staff locations, transparency into your security operations, and live detailed reporting accessible on-demand.

HELIAUS® is also actionable by providing predictive and proactive driven direction, identifying and focusing on areas of concern, and providing clear communication and response to incidents in real-time.

HELIAUS® in Action

In December of 2019, John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) became the pilot facility within Allied Universal’s aviation market to integrate the HELIAUS® program.

HELIAUS® provides a solution to help streamline security operations while generating intelligent recommendations to help mitigate risk, while also helping provide real-time communication and insight to their security professionals while working at these airport facilities.

Working closely with our CRAA contacts within the Public Safety division, Allied Universal was able to further expand its service and technology capabilities to provide added value to the security model in place at CMH.

Duties expanded to include a vehicle patrol of perimeter gates as well as door alarm testing using the client’s in place access management system (AMS).

By integrating HELIAUS® with perimeter gate checks we are now able to provide the exact date, time, and officer at each gate for each gate check; along with GPS verification that the security professional was physically present at the gate when the check was conducted.

This helped provide airport leadership with accountability and transparency knowing that security professionals were in the right place, at the right time.

The program also allows leadership to have access to the systems advanced, easy to navigate reporting web portal. The system runs pre-scheduled tours to ensure all gates have been checked and will indicate any missed gates to the security professional during their patrols.

Allied Universal has now begun using HELIAUS® capabilities to identify and mitigate additional security challenges such as insider threat, recurrent access violations, and incident frequency and response.
Allied Universal HELIAUS® capabilities identify and mitigate additional security challenges such as insider threat, recurrent access violations, and incident frequency and response.

With HELIAUS® in place, Allied Universal has been able to provide CRAA with much more detailed, instantaneous records and compliance reporting for many of their security metrics.

Our partners within the Public Safety Division can access the system and submit real-time requests to the on-site team, review active and past incidents, and view the metrics independently, increasing their transparency with CRAA not only in regards to KPI reporting but has aided CRAA on several occasions when responding to TSA audits or inquiries.

By replacing outdated modes of record-keeping with HELIAUS®, a searchable reporting system was made available (and practical) with a higher density of useable security-related data.

Additionally, they have begun using this capability to identify and mitigate additional security challenges such as insider threat, recurrent access violations, and incident frequency and response, with metrics allowing teams to identify new leading indicators, or refine existing data sets and stay ahead of the curve in addressing security concerns that were previously unidentified or poorly documented.

Security of non-controlled doors was also a concern and was addressed through HELIAUS® at a fraction of the cost of installing additional AMS sensors and keycard control at those locations.

Vehicle safe-lists for designated parking areas have been incorporated into HELIAUS® system eliminating the need for maintaining a paper copy of such lists and reducing over-the-air calls to the police communication center.

The HELIAUS® system also creates targeted questions of the Security Professional to ensure all needed information is collected promptly and paired with the report.
The HELIAUS® system also creates targeted questions of the Security Professional to ensure all needed information is collected promptly and paired with incident and other reports.

Even audits for restaurants within the sterile area were migrated to HELIAUS® along with audits for merchandise vendors within a sterile area, which are now matched via GPS tagging and includes pictures of the logs along with any findings.

The system also creates targeted questions of the security professional to ensure all needed information is collected promptly and paired with the report.

Messaging can also be rapidly delivered to all HELIAUS® devices, such as urgent facility events or incidents, and can be conveyed to all active security professionals with any pertinent instructions, and are time and date stamped when read and acknowledged.

With prescriptive analytics driving action, HELIAUS® adds value by increasing safety and savings for the client’s security program.

HELIAUS® can help you create a powerful resolution and response by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, smart, efficient, and advanced thinking, all while helping clients plan, learn, and problem-solve to mitigate risk.

Allied Universal® provides proactive security services and cutting-edge smart technology to deliver tailored, integrated security solutions that allow clients to focus on their core business.
