From commandants to scientists, industry leaders to active-duty personnel, the Navy League of the United States is honoring outstanding individuals who have excelled in their areas of expertise at its Sea-Air-Space Exposition, to be held April 9 to 11 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Navy League of the United States

The 2018 awardees are:

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Award: Honoring a leader of industry who has made a major contribution to our nation’s maritime strength and/or enhanced our national security.

Albert A. Michelson Award: Honoring a civilian scientist, technical innovator, or group or organization that has demonstrated scientific or technical achievement that has resulted in a significant improvement in the strength of our maritime forces or to the enhancement of our industrial-technology base.

Admiral Vern Clark and General James L. Jones Safety Awards: Honoring individuals, units or organizations that best exemplify and advance a culture of safety by making significantly greater contributions to safety than normally expected of those in their assignments.

The Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz and the Albert A. Michelson awards will be presented at a luncheon on Monday, April 9 by Dr. Jack London, executive chairman and chairman of the board for CACI.

The Admiral Vern Clark and General James L. Jones Safety Awards will be presented by Undersecretary of the Navy Thomas Modly at a luncheon on Wednesday, April 11.
