Point Blank Body-Worn Camera & Genetec Clearance (See in Action)

Genetec, a leading provider of open-architecture, IP security solutions has entered a strategic partnership with Point Blank Enterprises (PBE) a worldwide leader in the development, manufacturing and distribution of high performance body armor.

Through this partnership, Genetec and Point Blank will be able to offer law enforcement professionals a direct integration between the IRIS CAM body-worn camera and the all new Genetec Clearance™, a case management system designed to speed up investigations by allowing different organizations to collect, manage and share video evidence and other relevant case information.

(The IRIS CAM is an exciting new technology that brings the power of ultra-high definition video recording even closer to the action with a 140 degree field of vision. Attachable to the shoulder loop or shirt pocket, the IRIS CAM provides a recording of the wearer’s line of sight while in the field. Courtesy of Point Blank Armor and YouTube)

Genetec and Point Blank will demonstrate this integration at the IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) conference in San Diego, CA, October 15th -18th 2016, on the Genetec booth #3517, and Point Blank booth #4825.

Genetec Clearance allows police officers, investigators and security managers to gather digital evidence from a variety of sources such as the IRIS CAM, or other video management systems, as well as in-car systems and cellphone footage from bystanders and witnesses, and easily store, manage, review and share it from a single application.

(The increase in the amount of evidence gathered from surveillance systems, body cameras, and civilians can help solve crimes. However, it also presents new challenges for the investigation process. With a case management system that facilitates collaboration between security departments, outside agencies, and the public, you can overcome these issues and speed up investigations in a cost efficient manner. The Point Blank IRIS CAM can help law enforcement agencies improve evidence collection and enhance officer accountability.

Built in a ruggedized enclosure, the IRIS CAM provides ultra-high definition recording with a 140° FOV, getting even closer to the action.

Additionally, the IRIS CAM ensures not a moment is missed with 30 seconds of pre-recording and a long lasting lithium polymer battery that can last an entire shift.

The integration of the IRIS CAM system with Genetec Clearance will allow for automated uploads, saving law enforcement officers time at the end of their shift.

Once uploaded, the video can be viewed immediately, without the need for conversion.

Post-incident tagging can also be added to the recording, to help with further classification of the event, and aid in locating the file for future searches or investigations.

Recordings can also be shared with both internal and external users, at the click of a button, speeding up the case management workflow.
