AM TRACE, LLC (TRACE), a public health firm that supports state and local health department efforts to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and New Competitor in the Annual ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, is pleased to announce the company has been selected as a 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Award Finalist.

Simply put, when COVID-19 has emerged as National Emergency, and Federal Proclamation declared a National Emergency concerning the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), outbreak Mr. Dan Gabriel and his firm TRACE, responded to the pandemic by developing a scalable, national-based solution to help with the much-needed Contact Tracing.

Contact tracing slows the spread of COVID-19 by letting people know they may have been exposed to COVID-19 and should monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

Helping people who may have been exposed to COVID-19 get tested as well as asking people to self-isolate if they have COVID-19 or self-quarantine if they are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

Knowing where COVID-19 infections are concentrated and spreading is crucial for effective control and eradication efforts.

TRACE works with local leaders and communities to design and implement surveillance studies and programs that can inform and guide the concentration of limited resources to control the spread of COVID-19.

Daniel P. Gabriel, CEO of AM TRACE, LLC  is a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) counter-terrorism officer with extensive experience in countering violent extremism (CVE), directing counter-insurgency operations, and developing and benchmarking counter-radicalization theory and methodology in the Islamic world.

He is recognized internationally as a thought-leader in leveraging Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in support of governance and post-conflict management objectives.

As an Agency officer, Mr. Gabriel created, managed, and executed innovative operations in hostile areas to counter violent extremism and promote credible voices in Islamic societies.

He was a key architect and implementer of strategic engagement, collaboration, and de-confliction efforts across USG agencies to integrate global counter-terrorism strategic communications campaign after 9/11, and completed six tours to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Under Gabriel’s passionate leadership, TRACE recruited an expert team of public health professionals, and combined them with innovative technology, and deployed it in record time.

TRACE hired and engaged hundreds of contact tracers to individual states and local governments, as well as supported federal agencies to help face the massive burden of effectively managing the spread.

Like many local governments navigating the rapid spread of COVID-19, many states reached the limit in terms of internal resources as demand soars for contact tracing.

With TRACE’S expertise, they now have the ability to contact and support more residents faster in order to protect the public’s health.

Once contacts of positive cases have completed an initial interview with a public health nurse from a State public health agency, those contacts are assigned to a member of the TRACE team for monitoring and support.

A TRACE nurse coordinator then collaborates with state public health officials to allocate contacts to the team.

TRACE uses a state-operated CRM, to ensure data privacy and HIPAA compliance.

TRACE provides digital outbound and inbound dialing, including inbound call queuing in English and Spanish.

Contacts may opt to leave a voicemail if an agent is unavailable during regular business hours.

As states and counties “reopen” and return to normal operations, the government must remain vigilant in preventing new infections and reducing the risk of disease among our most vulnerable citizens.

TRACE works closely with local governments and health departments to provide facts on COVID-19 and help develop policies that will support ongoing preventive measures.

From an innovation perspective, AM TRACE’s Contact Tracing approach is built on evidence-based best practices and is informed by real-time lessons learned from their current COVID-19 programs underway in communities across the country.
