PureTech Systems, a Platinum Award Winner in the 2018 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, delivers a fully integrated automated outdoor wide-area and perimeter protection system in PureActiv, with the highest probability of detection and lowest nuisance alarm rates for securing facilities, infrastructure and borders with the company’s product solutions.
With expertise from 15 years of real-world deployments, and cutting-edge innovation, PureTech Systems patented Video Analytics are AI Deep Learning and Geo-spatially boosted providing real-time detection, classification, and tracking of perimeter security threats.
Many times, the right detection solution is not a single sensor technology.
PureTech’s flagship location-based AI video analytics PureActiv, integrates with a vast array of short- and long-range perimeter sensors such as radar, buried or on-fence fiber detection systems, and ground sensors either singularly or combining them to provide just the right level of protection to cost effectively meet the most secure perimeter requirements.
Additionally, given the extensible open-architecture approach, additional sensors can be added when needed or budgets permit.
PureActiv boasts of some of the longest detection ranges in the industry (over 5 miles), which reduces system infrastructure; thereby lowering total cost of ownership.
Combining of tracks from multiple radars and PureActiv AI Video Analytics, eliminates duplicate tracks on the geo-spatial (GIS) map and alarms from the same intrusion events; reducing clutter and improving situational awareness.
Similarly, PureActiv Auto-verify™ feature ensures only detections that are AI verified as targets of interest are alarmed upon, eliminating up to 95% of nuisance alarms.

PureActiv integrates with GPS for blue force (friend/foe) classification and tracking to aid interdictions.
This extensible solution enables organizations to start small and expand the system capabilities as time and budgets permit making PureTech a trusted leader in the security of the most critical perimeters and borders.
Borders
Controlling national borders is an important part of a nation’s security.
The ability to effectively monitor vast areas in varied weather conditions and terrain, while accurately identifying potential threats at great distances is a complicated scenario.
The solution calls for knowledgeable personnel and accurate sensors that work together to quickly assess a situation and enable border agents to effectively intervene.
In July of 2020, PureTech Systems partnering with Benchmark Electronics, won an award to provide PureActiv software integrated into over 135 Mobile Video Surveillance Systems (MVSS) vehicles for delivery to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for use along the U.S. border.
The MVSS platform utilizes PureActiv as its central command and control, providing AI enhanced video detection and classification, user interface display, and sensor collaboration logic for the surveillance suite, to provide rapidly deployable advanced surveillance technology to U.S. Border Patrol.
The suite consists of visible and thermal cameras, laser illuminators and range finders mounted on telescoping masts located in the back of commercial pickup trucks, and enables detection and classification of intruders up to 6 miles away.
Once the PureActiv software automatically identifies an intruder, the system has the ability to automatically track them and quickly provide accurate intruder location on a GIS map to Border Patrol along the U.S. southwest border and other remote surveillance scenarios.
PureActiv® using GIS map technology will display camera, radar, and other sensors locations and their field-of-views, alarm events, and target tracks, in a complete mobile surveillance system.
In addition to live and recorded video and live radar tracks, the user interface includes map tools such as the ability to add and share place-markers, point-and-click on the map to steer cameras to geolocations, fire laser range finders, range-to-target indicator, and a distance measuring tool.
This combination of real-time data on a map-based interface, provides the user a high level of situational awareness, which aides them in effective interdiction.
Ports
Additionally, PureTech’s PureActiv wide area and perimeter protection solutions help port authorities improve the safety and security of seaports with a tangible Return on Investment (ROI).
PureTech’s wide-area perimeter protection solutions automate the protection of land and water-side perimeters to help ensure the safety and security of personnel and critical assets.
By detecting intrusion events at the perimeter, before they result in more catastrophic events, loss of life, and operational downtime, port authorities and law enforcement can intervene to deescalate situations and quickly return to normal operations.
The PureActiv system provides detection, alerting, and proactive deterring of potential safety and security events, which helps protect lives, cargo, and critical assets.
With 15 years of field deployments and continuous innovation, PureTech’s patented AI Neural Net based video analytics provides very high probability of detection with a very low nuisance alarm rate.
PureTech’s solutions include and combine integrations with other sensor systems to provide effective and affordable safety and security solutions.
The solutions scale incrementally so that you only pay for the capabilities you need when you need them.
PureActiv Protects US Power Generation Sites
In August of 2020, PureTech was awarded an add-on multiple site contract for the deployment of PureActiv Geospatial AI Video Analytics, multi-Sensor Integration, and Command and Control software, to provide wide-area perimeter protection at multiple power generation plants in the United States.
This follows successful 2020 deployment of PureActiv at multiple Power Generation sites in the U.S. The system integrates PureTech’s GIS AI Deep Learning video analytics and other sensor technologies for a seamless Common Operating Picture.
Although due to security reasons, the client cannot be disclosed, the PureActiv automated system is actively protecting miles of perimeter from unauthorized intrusion through fence-lines and turnstiles, and the newest sites are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
“These deployments demonstrate that our patented perimeter intrusion detection software solution can be successfully deployed on a large scale in a very short time frame” explains Larry Bowe, president of PureTech Systems.
“It speaks to the 15 years of investment we have made, not only in market-leading intrusion detection and classification algorithms, but also in ease of deployment and use.”
