The AlertMe mobile app enables people associated with clients – like students, healthcare workers, faculty, and others – to manage their notification settings and communicate better than ever before.
AlertMe is optional, but is designed to make notifications simple and effective for message recipients while providing a powerful way for clients to reach people based on their geolocation.

Regroup 2018 Achievements
During 2018, Regroup Mass Notification pursued technological improvements and acted quickly with community-serving policies that helped keep people safe and informed when time was of the essence and lives were on the line during emergencies across North America.
Here are some highlights of how Regroup was used in 2018 to protect Americans and provide better information and support to front line security teams and first responders:
Reducing Riptide Deaths
Dare County, N.C., utilized Regroup to provide visitors and residents access to National Weather Service (NWS) ocean and beach condition forecasts to help beach goers make informed decisions before they headed to out.
As conditions changed, ocean rescue personnel alerted beach goers of hazards and the posting of Red No Swimming Flags.
The use of Regroup’s opt-in and NWS alert capabilities improved beach safety across the Dare County Outer Banks.
Evacuating People from California’s Camp Fire
In November 2018, the Camp Fire ravaged communities in Butte County, California and left behind and became the world’s costliest natural disaster of the year.
The Camp Fire was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history to date, but we’re thankful to be able to report that many Regroup clients were able to alert their recipients and move quickly to prevent more lives from being lost.

Two notable examples are Butte College in Oroville, California which used Regroup to alert students to the approaching danger and shut down the campus so students would evacuate, while also providing firefighters with a much-needed staging area for equipment and response teams.
A medical center in Northern California also used Regroup Mass Notification to call in additional staff support when the nearby Feather River Medical Center had to evacuate and move patients with critical needs to their location.
Preventing a School Shooting
In October, the Chief of Police at Pensacola State College received a credible threat of an armed individual coming to campus to shoot a student as part of a domestic dispute.
Although he was in his car, miles away from campus, the Chief was able to use Regroup’s AlertManager app to notify his department on campus and issue an emergency lockdown.

Within minutes of receiving the threat, the Santa Rosa campus had been secured and the threatening individual was apprehended and disarmed before anyone was hurt.
ShakeAlert Early Earthquake Warnings
In addition to these powerful success stories, Regroup partnered with The United States Geological Survey to begin beta testing ShakeAlert Early Earthquake Warnings and participated in the very successful Great Shakeout Drill, which is a crucial test to ensure millions of residents in California, Washington and Oregon will receive potentially life-saving advance warnings before the next earthquake.
