Share911, a leading provider of collaborative communication solutions that keep people safe at work, and a 2019 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Award Winner, is now offering the critical communication software solution free to any public safety agency to help empower 911 operators and law enforcement officers.
The Share911 communication software platform recently became available to independent and charter school districts and their public safety agency partners, in six Texas counties (Bexar, Dallas, El Paso, Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery counties) with current deployments in three Texas school districts.
Due to the increase of active shooter incidents occurring at schools in the Texas region over the last several years, the State of Texas recently introduced the 2019-2021 School Safety & Security Grant which provides TX school districts with eligible funds to invest in active shooter alarm systems.
In an effort to reinforce the state’s safety efforts Share911 is offering a BuyBoard Contract 567-18, which provides eligible districts in Texas a discounted rate on the the Share911 Communication Software Platform.

Share911 was founded in 2013 with the intent of improving the efficiency of communication between management, security, and employees in a workplace of any kind.
Notify, a first of its kind responsive mass notification platform is the fastest way to disseminate safety concerns, conditions, and operational disruptions to your workforce.
How you can put safety first with Share911
Inform your employees of safety concerns faster
-
Share911 starts with Notify, enabling you to inform employees of safety-related conditions via text and email.
-
You’ll know they received your notification, they can reply to notify security personnel when they need assistance, see danger or need help inside or outside of their workplace.
-
When necessary, security and management personnel can Alert employees to take specific action necessary to get safe and keep employees informed during the event, instead of leaving them in the dark.
-
As the event unfolds, incident commanders have real-time visibility to LiveView, showing them first-hand reports of where the danger is, where help is needed and who is safe.
Alert your employees and 911 at the same time
-
Share911 Alert is the fastest way for you and authorized members of your team to alert employees when they are in immediate danger and need to take specific action right now.
-
Your alert reaches employees on their computer and mobile devices in just seconds.
-
When you issue an alert, 911 and participating public safety personnel are notified at the same time, increase response time, which is critical.
Help employees make better, more informed decisions
-
During critical violent incidents, such as an active shooter incident, your employees will have just seconds to determine what is happening, how close they are to the danger and what they should do to stay safe.
-
Share911 LiveView shows everyone involved where the danger is in relation to where they are.
Get medical assistance to those who need it most urgently
-
The unfortunate reality is that victims of gunshot wounds often die waiting for help to arrive because nobody knows they are injured or where they are.
-
With Share911 LiveView, injured persons or those with them can share their exact location and the nature of the injuries with first aid trained co-workers and first responders in real-time.
Account for everyone as quickly as possible

One of the greatest challenges during an emergency is ensuring everyone has been accounted for and if they are safe.
-
With Share911 you and everyone involved can see who is unaccounted for and help locate them.
Keep everyone informed

During an emergency, your employees need and want information.
-

Texas City ISD (TCISD), Bridge City ISD, and Boyd ISD were the first districts in Texas to deploy Share911’s collaborative communication software platform, with 1400 employees and 9200 students enrolled and encompasses 14 schools within 11 campuses, (including 3 brand new schools being rebuilt after Hurricane Harvey.)
“We believe the most effective solution in any crisis is having the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with all of our stakeholders,” explains Mike Matranga, Executive Director of Security & School Safety at TCISD.
“Share 911 allows us to do this seamlessly,” states Michael A. Matranga, Executive Director of Security & School Safety at TCISD.”
“Their willingness to listen to our feedback and make adjustments based upon our needs is unmatched. This is a fully customizable solution to a very serious situation we all face.”
(See how how TCISD worked together with Share911 to improve school safety. Courtesy of Share911.)
Since Share911’s implementation in July 2019, TCISD has conducted multiple drills which have resulted in improved response times from staff members.
It is crucial for schools today to have a clearer site picture during a crisis; as it allows them to make better decisions which in return saves lives.
The recent enacted Texas Senate Bill 11 mandates that school district employees have a way to immediately alert district emergency services, security, and law enforcement personnel when they see danger, but some believe it does not go far enough.
“While the bill suggests a telephone in a classroom could suffice, we believe that continued reliance on yesterdays, outdated, one-to-one communication is not enough,” said Erik Endress, CEO at Share911.
“If people don’t know that they are in danger and where that danger is occurring, people can get hurt or killed no matter how quickly law enforcement arrives.”
“Share911 is making significant strides in helping to empower 911 operators and law enforcement officers to issue a lockdown to school employees immediately upon notification of an emergency event.”
Share911’s core mission is to improve the efficiency of communication during critical events, and is deployed in 4,000 workplaces nationwide, protecting 750,000 people.
