When a gun shooting takes place, time is often the determining factor between life and death.
The best chances for survival depend on the victim receiving help within the golden hour, a term by medical professionals as the period of time following a traumatic injury during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical will prevent death.
Paramount to the survival of the victim is accurate alert notification indicating that a gunshot event has happened and where it transpired.
The latest school shooting clearly identifies what Shot Tracer® is attempting to solve, the confusion and misinformation that arises when a shooting event occurs.
-
The first issue is whether it was a real gunshot heard, and if it was, where did it come from.
-
The second issue is the location of the shooting for first responders to know where to be deployed.
-
The third issue is contacting the necessary authorities to alert them of the problem.
Shot Tracer, from Tracer Technology Systems, addresses all of these issues by sending a notification (SMS, Email, JSON) to authorities within seconds of the actual shooting with the location where the shot took place.
Shot Tracer is a cost-effective, automated technology that can provide immediate alerts to security or medical personnel with location, time and type of event when the unthinkable happens.
It can also activate the building’s lock-down procedures and inform key persons of the event.
