SOS Emergency Gate Access Sensors Return to Compete in 2022 ‘ASTORS’

In every emergency there is too much at stake to be delayed at the gate. SOS Silent, a Multi- 'ASTORS' Homeland Security Awards Program, is saving lives, money and time.
In every emergency there is too much at stake to be delayed at the gate. SOS Silent, a Multiple 'ASTORS' Homeland Security Award Winner, is saving lives, money and time.

Siren-Operated Sensors (SOS), a Platinum Award Winner in Three Consecutive ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Programs, is pleased to announce the company’s newest product has been nominated to compete in the 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program.

SOS Silent

No keys, codes or radios required to quick emergency access to gated communities.

SOS Silent uses the latest technology in Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID).

Each gate is equipped with an RFID receiver and each emergency vehicle has a RFID puck.

The RFID puck on the vehicle is constantly transmitting a signal.

When the vehicle comes into the specified range, the gate opens.

This pure and simple system allows responders to focus on driving and on the emergency ahead without pushing a remote, looking up a code, stopping to use a key or changing the channel on their radio to trigger the gate.

In every emergency there is too much at stake to be delayed at the gate. SOS Silent is saving lives, money and time.

The range at which the gate is opened can be adjusted from 10 to 600 feet to customize each gate entrance.

Gates will open automatically when emergency response vehicles come within range.

Open gates quickly and silently to ensure first responders can get to community members in need with no life-threatening delays.

SOS Makes ALL Gates 911 Accessible

SOS Emergency Gate Access Systems allow first responders to open gates in an emergency.

No stopping, No getting out of the vehicle, No codes to remember, No remotes to push, No keys to lose, and No cost to the municipalities.

SOS is saving lives, money and time.

The original SOS® – Siren-Operated Sensor has provided electronic gate access systems since 1992, for fast and secure emergency access to:

Residential Homes Commercial Property Apartment Buildings
Home Owner Associations Healthcare Campuses Airports
Government Properties Military Facilities Parking Garages

If a Gate, Door, Parking Arm, Barrier, Electronic Lock, or Roll-Up Door needs to open for emergency responders – the SOS – Siren-Operated Sensor is a proven sensing and opening device.

Once the “Yelp” siren has been recognized, a signal is sent to open the gate.

Gates installed to protect, must not delay emergency responders any longer.

People have died because responders could not get through a gate.

The SOS is the most cost-effective way for emergency responders to access a gated home, business, or public facility without stopping or leaving their vehicle to enter a code or to use a key.

SOS Emergency Access Systems are now mandatory in many communities throughout the world due to the reliability and ease of use.

With an SOS activated gate, critical time is saved in reaching an emergency event, and saving lives.

The latest municipality to install SOS Silent Sensors across all gated community’s is Davie, Florida, a town in Broward County, approximately 24 miles north of Miami.

Davie is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, with a population of 91,992 at the 2010 census.

Robert Taylor, Fire Marshal

Fire Marshal Robert Taylor at Davie Fire Rescue Department is thrilled to have the SOS Silent installed at all the gates in his community.

“Having the SOS Silent allows the gate to start opening as soon as we pull onto the driveway,” explains Taylor.

“This is saving us time in every emergency we respond to – and in an emergency time saved means saving lives and property.”

The SOS Silent is a lifesaving and property saving system allowing the fastest entry of any system available.

With the active RFID that can be programmed to open a gate up to 500 feet away.

As soon as the emergency vehicle leaves the roadway and the gate is in sight – the opening sequence begins.

The RFID tags are trackable and the unit has a 26 bit Wiegand output connecting to any access control  system.

Additionally, the SOS Silent comes with a redundant way to open the gate in the event another municipality is called upon to assist in responding to an emergency.

Using their “Yelp” siren, alternate emergency responder vehicles can open the gate, in the same way in which the original SOS System operates.

This redundancy is crucial in incidents such as when California wildfires take grasp of large tracks of land and fire fighters respond to battle the blazes from all across the state.

All emergency responder vehicles (law enforcement, fire and rescue and emergency medical services), are outfitted with a “Yelp” siren which enables them to open gates that have SOS Emergency Gate Access Sensors installed.
