Spectracom is pleased to announce the company’s New VersaPNT has been nominated to compete in the 2017 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program.
Debuting at AUSA on October 9, 2017, VersaPNT is the first all-in-one, always-accurate positioning, navigation and timing solution that delivers reliable performance beyond the limitations of GPS.
VersaPNT is designed specifically for applications that operate in GPS-denied environments or are subject to jamming and spoofing.
(GNSS & GPS plays a key role in the operation of critical infrastructure like our communications networks, our financial systems, our power grids, and more. These GPS/GNSS signals are susceptible to interference making the critical systems that rely on them vulnerable. It makes your system resilient against unwanted surprises.
Its integrated Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in combination with a precision oscillator provides every application with valid positioning, navigation and timing data until the trusted GPS signal is back.
VersaPNT’s compact size and high level of ruggedization make VersaPNT suitable for mobile applications in any harsh environment.
And its small footprint allows for easy integration of the time and frequency functionality into systems architecture, minimizing size, weight and power (SWAP) by combining the PNT functions that are typically achieved only with multiple independent subsystems.
Applications for VersaPNT include:
- Observations payload (radar, optronics, electronic warfare), flying test bench, flight analysis, tactical UAV navigation
- Blue Force Tracking, vehicle navigation, Satcom On the Move (SOTM), anti IED jamming systems, mobile radios and C3I, robotics
- Sensor support (radars, sonars, optronics, electronic warfare), communication networks, offshore/DSO platforms
Backed by more than four decades of Spectracom’s timing solutions expertise, VersaPNT includes all the timing functionality required in modern, network-centric applications.

NTP/PTP precise time transfer over Ethernet, including:
- Security protocols that prevent network vulnerabilities
- Low phase noise 10 MHz frequency distribution
- Configurable pulse signals, including IRIG or HaveQuick timecodes, serial link Time of Day (ToD) messages, and VICTORY PNT services
Its physical inputs and outputs are software configurable and can adapt to various application requirement: I/O pins can be configured as TTL, 10V pulse, RS232, RS485, for example.
VersaPNT can also accommodate an option board to provide additional outputs, making it a highly versatile and configurable solution.
Put it all together and you have the industry’s first assured positioning, navigation and timing system that’s accurate in all conditions, reliable, spoof-proof, flexible, compact, and rugged, making it ideal for any application that requires resilient PNT – particularly in a hostile environment.
