SteelCloud to Boost DoD’s RMF Readiness with Red Hat RHEL 7 STIG

SteelCloud has enhanced ConfigOS, its patented STIG remediation software, to comprehensively support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

ConfigOS dramatically reduces the time and effort to build, test, and deploy STIG-compliant Linux and Windows application environments.

This new RHEL 7 support adds to ConfigOS existing automation for RHEL 5 & 6, CENTOS and SUSE Linux.

“We are seeing tremendous demand across all customer segments for a STIG-centric, purpose-built solution to automate the DoD’s IA and RMF tasks for Red Hat 7,” said Brian Hajost, SteelCloud President and CEO.

“Not only does our software organize all processing and reporting functions around familiar DISA STIG Vulnerability IDs, but it also creates XCCDF output to automate the updating of STIG Viewer.”

“ConfigOS is simply the fastest, most complete tool for the initial hardening and ongoing remediation of Linux STIG-compliant environments.”

ConfigOS is currently implemented in classified and unclassified environments, tactical programs, disconnected labs, and the AWS commercial cloud.

ConfigOS is client-less technology, requiring no software agents.

ConfigOS scans endpoint systems for hundreds of STIG controls in under 60 seconds and then remediates them in under 90 seconds.

Automated remediation rollback as well as comprehensive compliance reporting and STIG Viewer XCCDF output are provided.

ConfigOS was designed to harden every CAT 1/2/3 STIG control around an application baseline in 60 minutes – typically eliminating weeks or months from the accreditation timeline.

ConfigOS automates the incorporation of documented policy waivers to ensure flawless automated STIG remediation and compliance reporting.

ConfigOS also addresses Microsoft workstation and server operating systems together with application components such as SQL, IIS, IE, Chrome, and all of the Microsoft Office components including Office 2016.

ConfigOS remediates all user profiles in a single pass, providing significant benefits when transitioning to Windows 10.
