TCOM, L.P., Global Leader in Integrated ISR Solutions, Unveils Refreshed Brand Identity with New Logo and Tagline; Asserting Strategic Focus on Expanded ISR, High-Tech Manufacturing Capabilities, and Fast Growth

TCOM, L.P., a returning Platinum Award Winner nominated to compete in the 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program, has launched a new brand identity today with its unveiling of a refreshed logo and tagline.

A global leader in persistent lighter-than-air tethered surveillance platforms, the new brand identity represents its strategic growth and expansion initiatives, which are focused on enhancing situational awareness on Land, at Sea or in Air, for its customers.

“Building on our long history of success, the rebranding initiative represents our vision to deliver enhanced capabilities and a deliberate movement up the value stream for TCOM,” explaines Ron Bendlin, TCOM’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

“As a fast-growing the company, we are continuing to broaden our core competencies to deliver cost-efficient lifecycle management and deploy highly skilled field services.”

To represent the heritage of lighter-than-air aerostats, the visual element artistically retains the previous logo’s aerostat shape.

Incorporating the company name, now prominently displayed in a modern font, the new logo features an iconic visual element and a tagline across the top.

Transmitting the vision for growth is the “Elevated Awareness” tagline that communicates the company’s plan to provide elevated sensor and communications solutions.

“While we will continue to provide state-of-the-art lighter-than-air platforms, we will now spend equal energy on integrating advanced payloads and modernizing ground control shelters,” said Matthew McNiel, TCOM’s Vice President of Business Development, elaborated.

“Coupled with highly effective and efficient sustainment activities, TCOM will ensure that our customers experience the best possible situational awareness throughout the life of their mission.”

“Leveraging TCOM’s 50 year history of a proven track record for delivering excellence, we decided it was time to introduce our fresh new look and feel that aligns with our recent global expansion in strategic capabilities, unprecedented growth, and continued innovation.”

Unhindered by costly fuel or aeronautic maintenance the Aerostat systems provide unmatched ISR capabilities. Their true strengths are observed with their Maritime ISR showings as the Aerostat is not “just a balloon” but a persistent, unmanned, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform for Homeland Security and for U.S. allies across the world.

Maintaining continuous aerial security is a daunting task.

Threats such as low-flying, extremely fast aircraft can take advantage of the earth’s curvature and exploit terrain obstructions.

This renders ground-based radars unable to provide target information in time to take appropriate action.

Slow, low flying missiles with a small cross section may also avoid early detection and pose a significant threat.

TCOM systems provide affordable and economical persistent surveillance for military, defense, law-enforcement, border security and communications applications.

Manned aerial surveillance can decrease the risk for short periods of heightened alert, but the operational costs are much too high for extended use.

To meet this airborne coverage challenge effectively and inexpensively, TCOM developed the Low Altitude Surveillance Systems.

Additionally, along hostile borders or in troubled interior regions, ground forces and civilian populations are at constant risk of attack.

Well-armed insurgents use the cover of night to initiate surprise attacks and plant explosive devices. Without adequate continuous surveillance, enemy forces can inflict major damage.

Ground-based radars and day/night optical sensors alone cannot provide the line of sight needed to overcome terrain obstructions and defeat these threats in a timely manner.

TCOM, L.P. produces the largest Aerostats to date, varying from 12 meters to over 117 meters in length which can be assembled and deployed by minimal crew in mere hours, and operated from either land or vessels at sea.

Continuous operation of manned or unmanned aircraft is too costly and difficult to maintain.

Therefore, security forces need an effective and affordable elevated land surveillance system that offers continuous, wide-area surveillance, while providing target information rapidly and reliably.

THE VIEW FROM ABOVE:

TCOM air surveillance systems utilize the largest class of tethered aerostats  which can routinely operate at elevations of 15,000 feet.

The aerostats have the payload size, weight and power capacity to support high performance, long range radars that can unmask aircraft operating well below the coverage pattern of ground based radars.

Aerostats can carry a variety of sophisticated payloads including day/night Electro-Optics/Infrared (EO/IR) Cameras, Radars, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Communications Relays and more. (Courtesy of TCOM LP)

The aerostat borne radar can detect these targets, acquire track very quickly and maintain track on quickly maneuvering targets.

In addition to the radar, the aerostat can simultaneously support passive surveillance payloads.

GCI radios on the aerostat allow direct voice communications between air controllers and their interceptors even at very low altitudes.

The extended range of LASS, along with the ability to operate continuously for weeks on end provides security forces with the intelligence necessary to detect threats far earlier than ground-based systems alone.

Early detection affords more time to react.

With over 1,000,000 hours of operation these systems are the only operational airborne defense assets to routinely provide the continuous round-the-clock, low altitude target detection information needed to secure the skies.

TCOM’s new brand identity follows some major contract wins.

With enhanced systems in the hands of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), on the southern border, upgrading sensors on legacy systems capable of performing long-range early warning is increasingly important to secure our nation’s border.

Providing engineering, logistics, operations, and program management support for the U.S. Army’s Persistent Surveillance Systems – Tethered (PSS-T) Program, TCOM is primed to execute on its vision.
