The Tucson Border Patrol Station is taking applications for their “Citizen’s Academy” planned for later this year.
The first class will be scheduled after the first 15 applications are received. Additional classes may be scheduled based on the number of applicants.
Each Academy consists of classes, discussions, scenarios and demonstrations to provide community members an in-depth view into various areas of law enforcement and the daily operations of securing Arizona’s southern border.

Classes are held one night per week for six weeks, each focusing on a different aspect of what Border Patrol agents do on a daily basis.
Participants also receive a brief overview of the various laws agents must know prior to graduating from the Border Patrol Academy.
Upon graduation from the Citizen’s Academy, participants will better understand how the Border Patrol functions within the community, the daily challenges, and the difficulties faced when making split-second decisions.

The U.S. Border Patrol is committed to fostering a positive relationship within local communities. Outreach programs, such as the Citizen’s Academy, seek to promote transparency, collaboration and understanding among border residents.
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must meet certain application requirements.
