Young mother dies from gun fire in apparent road rage incident; U.S. Marshals capture suspect in South Dakota the next day.
On the evening of October 16, 2016 Whitney Grey, a 22-year-old female was shot and killed in an apparent road rage incident in Independence, MO.
Grey was reportedly driving her minivan with her two young children inside when an unknown situation occurred in which another driver is suspected of shooting a firearm into her vehicle.

She was hit by the gun fire and died at the scene. Independence Missouri Police Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Christopher P. Taylor from Independence, MO.
Independence Missouri Police Detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in Kansas City, Mo. ran down leads, conducted interviews and searched the metro area for signs of Taylor.
It became apparent that he fled the metro area. On the evening of October 17, 2016 U.S. Marshals located his vehicle at a motel along Interstate 90 in western South Dakota.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for Taylor’s arrest, charging him with Murder- 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.
U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement from Rapid City took Taylor into custody during the early morning hours of October 18, 2016 without incident. He was turned over to local authorities on the warrant.
