Salient CRGT, has received a contract award from the Institute of Scrap Recycling, Inc. (ISRI) to modernize an existing web application for the tracking and recovery of stolen materials.
Salient CRGT will provide application development, data hosting, and IT modernization to support the ISRI’s recovery efforts.
The ISRI and its 21 chapters represent approximately 1,300 companies operating in nearly 4,000 locations in the U.S. and 34 countries worldwide that process, broker, and consume scrap commodities, including metals, paper, plastics, glass, rubber, electronics, and textiles.

The current tracking application is a web application called ScrapTheftAlert.com, which has assisted with recovering $2 million in stolen materials to date.
The system is used by law enforcement personnel, victims of theft, and recyclers.
It enables law enforcement users to post alerts of stolen materials, and includes search capability, photo upload, success story updates, and a protected, private portal for law enforcement to share confidential information.
For the users of STA.com, Salient CRGT will transfer the system to its hosting facility.
Salient CRGT will establish connections to law enforcement networks such as the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Data Exchange (N-DEx), and the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS).
The system will be connected to Salient CRGT’s Voyager TM Query for Law Enforcement solution that will provide a portal for credentialed law enforcement users to inquire about data in other secure, restricted systems.
Salient CRGT has more than 15 years’ hosting experience, supporting the law enforcement community with Voyager-based solutions, including Voyager Enterprise Server (VES).
Implemented in over 25 state Criminal Justice Information Systems, (CJIS), VES services almost 20,000 concurrent users from thousands of criminal justice systems.
Salient CRGT’s Voyager Query for Law Enforcement, a secure mobile client front-end for the VES, is utilized by thousands of law enforcement users across the country.
“Leveraging our years of law enforcement hosting experience, we will deliver a highly-scalable, tightly integrated, enhanced version of the application,” says Brad Antle, CEO of Salient CRGT.
“Our Mobility Innovation Center focuses on improving collaboration among offices and agencies, and creating efficiencies and assuring accuracy through application development. It is also of the utmost importance that the law enforcement users can trust the security of their credentials, data, and communications.”
