Genetec, a leading provider of open-architecture, unified IP security solutions to unveil the AutoVu SharpV a new fixed ALPR (automated license plate recognition) camera with onboard processing, highly precise settings, easy and flexible installation and new affordable pricing.
The AutoVu™ SharpV is an all-in-one specialized automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) device which combines two high-definition cameras with onboard processing and illumination in a ruggedized, environmentally sealed unit.
Whether monitoring parking or augmenting security, the SharpV is built to read license plates and stream contextual video simultaneously within Security Center.
Genetec will unveil and demonstrate the AutoVu SharpV at the IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) conference in San Diego, CA, October 15th -18th 2016, Booth #3517.
The AutoVu SharpV camera is expected to be available in early December 2016 from Genetec channel partners and resellers.
AutoVu SharpV is designed for fixed ALPR installations. It can be tied into citywide video surveillance systems to improve forensic investigations, reporting, monitoring, and is ideally suited for controlling access to corporate facilities, as well as managing off-street parking facilities.
The SharpV-ITS model will offer a solution specifically targeted at the intelligent transportation sector.
Featuring a completely new design that makes it easy for integrators to install, the AutoVu SharpV can be easily mounted on walls or poles.
With power and communication transferring through a Power-over- Ethernet plus (PoE+) connection, and a varifocal lens design that allows installers to easily adjust the focal distance of the camera on site for optimal image capture, the new SharpV simplifies system specification and provides flexibility during deployment.
With high-definition ALPR and context cameras and onboard processing in a single device, the SharpV can detect and read any type of license plate on the edge, and includes various analytics such as vehicle make and direction of travel.
“The new AutoVu SharpV is the result of over 15 years of specialized ALPR design experience, so it’s much more than an upgrade. It features premium performance without any of the challenges that often accompany ALPR projects,” said Chris Yigit, Program Manager for AutoVu.
“Not only does it include all the features of our previous generation Sharp ALPR cameras, but it also brings a whole new level of image precision, combined with ease of installation at a lower price point. With our new SharpV, ALPR has never been easier.”
The SharpV can also be integrated with Omnicast™, the IP video surveillance system of Security Center, the Genetec unified security platform.
The SharpV can simultaneously stream live video to Omnicast, doubling as video surveillance unit and recorded video can be associated with ALPR hits to enhance awareness and investigations.
SharpV also supports the AutoVu Free Flow parking enforcement module to increase parking enforcement efficiency by providing a real-time inventory of vehicles parked illegally in monitored parking lots.
