Terre Haute police detective Greg Ferency, who was an FBI task force officer since 2010, was shot and killed in the line of duty after being ambushed outside an FBI building in Indiana. Detective Ferency was a 30 year veteran of the Terre Haute Police Department. He is survived by two adult children.

Officer William Earl Collins Jr., who served as a part-time police officer with the Doyline Police Department, and a full-time correctional supervisor with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance Friday evening. A subject in the home opened fire three deputies from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office as they arrived on the scene.
